Dark Souls review (Xbox 360) - MyGaming

This game is super hard, but I am loving it. Guess I am a sucker for punishment. Ninja Gaiden Black on master ninja was hard, but this game is the new champion of hardness.

Ninja Gaiden is a different kind of hard. The devs often relied on cheap tricks to make the game harder. Neither Demons Souls or Dark Souls is really "hard" in the traditional sense, I would rather describe them as challenging.

I would describe them both as Awesome! :)
 
I really want to try this and Demon's Souls, I do love me a challenge :) I'm quite new to rpg's though and my skills arent great, but hopefully Skyrim will get me used to it and then I can go die over and over again in this game.

Skyrim might not be the right game to warm up on. Demon's Souls & Dark Souls actually have more in common with Diablo than Elder Scrolls. I would say just pick up Demon's Souls (should be cheap) and give it a whirl. Its easier to get into that Dark Souls & if... when you get stuck there is an extensive wiki to help you out.
 
If you want to play an easy RPG, Dragon Age II is for you. I was totally underwhelmed by the new iteration to the Dragon Age series and was looking for something more, better.

Dark Souls is that. But holy crap its hard, frustrating and immensely enjoyable all at the same time. After playing a couple hours of dark souls I feel like I need to play CoD: Black Ops, just to calm down.

Definitely one of the more interesting games I've played to date. But its not for everyone. I can see this as being an easy game to hate, and a difficult game to love.
