I am a fan of HOMM3, did not like HOMM5 at all! it was too much like warcraft type feel
So if Heroes 6 is like HOMM3 , ill try it, from screenies, Heroes 6 does looka lot like Homm3 compared to Homm5

Heroes VI is very different to either number 5 or 6. So rather try the demo and see how you like it before buying the game, there have been a lot of positive and negative reactions to it so you might fall into the negative.
I however love the demo and am eagerly anticipating the release. I am going retail so just waiting for the game to arrive here so that I can go buy it.

Please tell us how it is. I am a huge heroes fan. Not so much of heroes 5 bec it stunk.

its pretty good, dumbed down a bit though... biggest changes are your spells being part of your skill trees and you are able to get all your creatures at any castle, which you can convert to your own. and less races. Homm 3 is still the best

Then I will give it a miss. Nothing has come close to HOMM 3. One of the greatest games. I think HOMM 3 was perfect. But I guess those days of gaming are over

did you receive the deluxe edition? i'm aswell going retail. need to know if the contents are different, because online i hear certain peeps receives this and that, and haven't been issued certain bonuses....would like to know and hope you are enjoying it. ;-)

So, been playing the game for a few hours. As I say I do like the game a lot, however one thing that I did notice is that the cut scenes are pretty badly done including voice acting.
However it is typical Heroes that keeps me wanting to come back for more.
The game play is solid and it is very diverse. Hoping that patches down the line bring in RMG and more character animations and also town animations as without those it leaves those aspects pretty plain.
Verdict so far 82/100
As far as comparisons to the other games in the series
Heroes VI - 82

Heroes IV - 72
Heroes III - 77

However it is typical Heroes that keeps me wanting to come back for more.

Surely that's like saying you will never play another FPS again until it's better than Half-Life 1, or never playing another RPG ever until it's better than BG2. It makes no sense, so what if it's not exactly the same than a 10yr old game that you consider the best ever, it's still a good game in a genre you supposedly enjoy.

Heroes five had very little in it. Barley any single scenarios,artifacts where terrible,It run badly. The lore of the game was meh. There was a lot to be desired. Even my mom who is a casual gamer thought h3 was better. Yes I will most prob give this game a bash. But I would give a lot for a new heroes game to entertain me like h3. And yes I do have an open mind to games. Just ubisofts track record for heroes is bad.

I think the reason why Heroes 3 was so popular was because it really built on the success of Heroes 2. Everything that was good in number 2 they built on it for number 3.
Imo I don't think Heroes 3 is the best one, but I think certain aspects of it are great. My major gripe however with number 3 was that the heroes were far too similar. Heroes 5 on the other hand took Heroes 3 and put a lot of focus on differentiating the Heroes which I really loved. Tribes of the East then came and added a whole new dimension with the units that actually imo made the game very well balanced between heroes and units.
With that I think Heroes VI continued with the balance of units / heroes, however I would like to see a 2nd upgrade type of each unit like Tribes of the East brought.
Is it still possible to purchase the Deluxe edition? So i hear only possible by pre-order....eish...
which heroes and bonus items did you receive?

You should, you can pick it up for under R100 so it is really worth it.

Don't know about any deluxe edition, but I know BT Games do have stock of the limited edition, same as what I got for R399. It's an orc hero, can't think of his name now and a staff for magic affinity.
Nearly purchased that....but I want the Deluxe edition instead.

Well the soundtrack is pretty awesome. I would have rather had that then the Heroes 3 complete with it since I already have that.
