With what you said taken into consideration, syco has posted quite a bit in the other threads...sure he lives in das TK, but hes contributing ;)
 
I don't think the whole Off Topic section shouldn't count towards one's post count, but rather certain topics...What You're Listening To being a good example :)

Thanks for the backup there OC atleast someone supports mah cause...... and de-railments lol..... and yeh i have had mah fair share of rants and supporting in the forum so dont judge......

Im with the Ape on this one.

When i first got here back in March people like Mappy gave me advice and stuff, i looked up to the guyz with the massive post counts, even if lost of it was just random jazz. Now im one of those guyz with a large post count, maybe not top 5 but yes, and we, the post 1k crowd do try to enlighten new member, include them in our crazyness. Like Oculate said, the TK is like a pub, a place where we all just hang and everything is possible. I find that often there arn't current threads in the other forums that warrent my attention. But when a game related topic that interests me arrives i quick to post. One of the reasons i stopped going to MyBB was coz everything turned into a fight, say something and your dammed as a racist or some other crap. Here we are all one big happy family. The Dixie get well soon thread is evident to that, when something happened to our beloved lady of gaming, even though she calls them "TV Games" and hardly ever venture out of the Off Topic Forum, the guyz all got together to do something nice for her. Yes we sometime kick Lynus out a window and gank Oculate but we're all friends. Its to the benefit of the community.

I've made so really good friends and some really weird ones, Oculate and Mephisto that means you, and that is why I love this site, coz it has a group or really swell guyz and gurlz with whom you can just be yourself.

If you envious of our post counts there is something you can do about to.... Take Part, Post random crap in the TK, even if the first few time Oculate calls you a Noob and throws poo in you face. Its all done in good fun.

I think people are gunna burn me for my blasphemy O.O

What I meant by that was Thread Killer should NOT give post count. On any forum I go to 1K + posts generally means the little guy knows what he's talking about. That takes me a while because I only post when I feel...inclined to for some reason. Either way, I think disabling post count in Off Topic would encourage more posts in other sections.

The prob is that sometimes there just isn't any news in the field of gaming, or there is but its not on your "Give-a-crap-about" List. So instead of going off and posting somewhere like MyBB you can head to off topic and post there. IF have post count in off-topic disabled that forum will die and alot of the MyG members which use it as a hang-out will go elsewhere. You will also get more spamming in the other Forums cluttering them. Most of the OffTopic and TK residents post in other Forums, maybe not as often as in the TK but thats coz there is always something to talk about in the TK.

Please leave are TK alone.

I'm so confused...why will people just hanging out in Off Topic just because it doesn't count towards their post counts? :confused:
 
Maybe he meant, "why will people stop hanging out in Off Topic if it didn't count towards their post count?"

Answer is simple...so ill give it to you in the form of a question: Would partake in activites in an MMO like WoW is it didn't give you XP? Most will answer no, you want you actions to have consequences. The Same for the Off Topic section, you want every post you make to be important even if your post is "Ek is Honger" or something similarly random.
