Man, I wish I was part of the online BF2 community to this day. Back then, I was still a student, not a lot of money etc, couldn't afford interwwebz and all that. So I only LANned BF2 with my friends. I do feel like I missed out though.

I also remember seeing BF1942 for the first time back in the day and thiking wow, this is cool. I wish I could LAN it with LOTS of friends. And since the internet was an unknown to me back then, I never knew what I was missing.

But a new lagacy awaits! BF3 will hopefully live up to the old school BF games in terms of longevity and a great community!

Dont worry buddy, you and me both.

I was finishing my thesis and played at the old Web Africa offices with a mate of mine who worked night shift. When I moved away from CT and started working and finishing up my thesis I had no time for gaming and no line. Eventually started up again on a crappy wireless link that would time out every 15 seconds. So I pretty much just played commander since then. I think of my 300hrs online, 65hrs was spent playing commander.

Loved that time of my life though. All the uncertainty of life's issues just drifted away while you shoot your mates in the face. :D

I will never forget my first teabagging. being shot and thinking 'Aw man' then seeing that okes digital ass bouncing on my pc screen. I had a laughing attack of notification!

BF2 is still an awesome game, and will be played by me and a lot of other people for quite some time to come. The online gameplay is really addictive, and you really get a sense of achievement when you get promoted once every 3 months or so. Point is, its still an awesome game that I play online and LAN regularly.
