Mybroadband forum

Used to be quite active on Mybb but i all went to crap - im much happier here on MyGaming - better community, Awesome staff and less trools.
 
Im still active but i agree, to many people trying to make you look as noobish as possible!
U ask a question and you a noob!!

The only difference is that mybb is more active than mygaming...

I'm still active but the trolling and flaming can be a bit too much at times, then I just take a break for a day or two. I like it that MyBB covers a lot of topics.
 
MyBB is one of the most active websites in SA, but the thing is when a site gets that big it loses it's close knit community. It becomes a corporate engine that just churns out more and more info and focuses less and less on it's members.
 
The nice thing about myGaming is that whenever we have an issue with someone, we can shoot each other in the face (and post screenies. :p) We measure ePeen in our gaming, not our forum posts.

I think we share a common distaste for community-less online communities. And I must say that so far the MyGaming forum has been largely successful in remaining civil.
 
There is one person on that site that absolutely grates me, he keeps going on and on about one tech being the best over and over grrr even when proven wrong.

Nothing beats mybb forum when it comes to asking a technical question related to IT, there really are guys on there with incredible knowledge. Posting in the off topic or philosophical section is a big no no, no-one takes anything seriously, its one big mess.

I must say I do enjoy the photography section, its active and some of the pictures taken by the community are just mind blowing.

I've tried asking questions about computer hardware on that forum on many occasions. And they always came back with crap info.
I've used the photography section, asking for help and never even got a reply. Not one!

Even though there are people with the knowledge, a lot of them seem to be doing something else or just missing. I'd like to give it the benefit of the doubt, but that place lost it's touch long ago.
 
I miss the old days of MyBB. Back when I started there, if you posted a thread in OT, withing 5 minutes you'd have at least five replies. Now it might just lie there for ages before getting a reply.

Seems like things have changed since I last visited a few months ago, what a shame.

They've gone from activist to being more social, that's been long accepted. Though I tend to miss that from time to time when there was more of a humorous involvement over these day's heavy handyness.

I do ask myself If I'm not purely wasting my time over there and here, however looking at the one man forum that came after the split these two choices don't seem that bad. I do wonder if Techcentral should start one how many would cross over that's just tired of the heavy hand and 'strange' things that keeps on happening. Sometimes I feel that there is just too much seriousness and the lacking of geek-in-cheeck humor lacks and is replaced by deletation, closation and banishment.

I'd take a look over at blue and see if the state improves after few weeks or month or two. For now it's just growing tiresome again.

Big forums tend to have big problems and don't take of their members properly. You can't be a close knit community with a forum that big. It's like everyone in Joburg (MyBB) knowing and loving each other compared to some small town (MyG) where everyone knows everything about everyone. Just can't happen. MyG offers 1 specific topic, MyBB offers much more so obviously there would be more members and with that comes more trolls and idiots, simple.
PS3za is also a wonderful place because it's mainly about PS3 so it's even small close knit community.
Over at MyBB you get TK and Mafia and that has formed some good relationships.
