Occupy San Diego live feed

Well that didn't last long; the camera guy was arrested for, well, doing nothing except filming the cops. Land of the free?

Oh wait hang on yesterday here was one of them!!!!! Except Julius is just a racist pig who is pushing for a form of dictatorship...

Land of the free james. Land of the free. Where you can get arrested for fuck all.

But why are they protesting over there whats the deal??

Anti-capatalism. So they are pro something else (maybe Nazism or worse... Socialism)
This entire thing reminds me of the Anti-Dog Eat dog laws from Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged.

For those pro this.... movement here is some food for thought.

This is a thermal image of the protesters here in london. Only 1 tent is occupied during the night. They are all obviously very dedicated to the cause.

Also if ur thick enough to think this is a good idea, the entire movement, go read Atlas Shrugged - it did not end well.

Yet people over here would march and shit, because its a day off for them and yet 90% of them don't even know what they're marching for.

It's not anti-capitalism; it's anti-banking cartels that control the artificial value of world currencies and engineer economic disasters to line the pockets of the wealthy minority at the expense of the majority. Corruption is rife right up to the level of the privately owned 'federal' reserve bank. The American public are standing up to prove they aren't oblivious to that fact. They exercise their right to protest, and the US proves it is very much a police state by cracking down with violence and unlawful arrests.

I think it's worrisome when the base currency for the globe, the US$, is 'backed' by trillions dollars worth of deficit (created by out-of-control corporate greed) in a country with a stagnant economy.

Well there is your problem. I believe the base currency shouldn't be linked to one country.

I agree; it's also the base currency for oil and gold purchases.

Gaddaffi, with his large reserves of Libyan gold, wanted to introduce an African currency based on the gold standard, and even use a coin containing small amounts of gold, so that currency wouldn't be linked to gold reserves, but the value could actually be held in your hands.

He may not have been the greatest person on the planet, but that's not why Nato decided to invade the country in support of 'rebels'. We've got plenty of dickwad dictators around the globe that are left well enough alone by the western powers that be, but only those with large mineral reserves seem to attract the wrath of those touting freedom and democracy.

Guess there's not much us plebs can do about it other than talk among ourselves to remain informed. I better get back to some escapism while we wait for World War III xD

Lol, Saddam wanted to link the oil he sold to the Euro instead of the Dollar.

Yep I remember having a very similar conversation when this whole Libya thing started. However I still cant get behind these people protesting capitalism. It seems like this "Poor us, we poor, its all their fault, :'(" Like I said, read/listen to Atlas Shrugged and tell me the scenarios depicted in it does not seem pretty close to what is going on in the world now.
