This. Or a 550Ti
The 560 TI has some probs with BF 3 ..
you have to get the bios flashed or underclock your card.
Id stay away from it for now.

I appreciate your advice guys, but first of, I cannot sell the 9800GT, when I get my new card, my Son, gets the 9800GT.
My Step-son, just walked in with the latest (?) PC Format, they reccomend the 5770 (R1300.00) or the 6850 (R1900.00), and the GTX550 as a possibility.
Like the price of the 5770, but I like the 6850 better, just don't know where to cut of the extra R400.00 ... <sigh>

Cheapest I could find. The weak rand is definitely impacting the pricing of components.

personally i prefer Nvidia cards over ATI, never come across an ATI that doesn't give problems in some way or another. People can argue that their cards are fine but personally ill never touch an ATI card, Id rather go for the 550ti for R1500 budget, even better is getting the 560 i'm sure i've seen them go for around R2000 at some of the suppliers.

Also I would try to get my hands on a 6790, those cards are really potent. And in crossfire they leave 550TI's in SLI far behind. And they come close to 6850 crossfire set up. Which gives them a lot of potential.

the 550ti is a great card for the price, but i would rather spend extra and get the 560ti
they will sort the bf3 issue out.

My 2c. Buy what you can afford.
You will be surprised at what the cheaper cards can do.
But don't expect the moon and the starts for R1500.
Like some guys said before, I have only had problems with ATI gfx cards and no problems what so ever with any of my Nvidia cards.
It's up to personal preference

Can get it for R1299 ex vat and it beats my GTX460.

My brother is getting a GTX 550 Ti for R1290 incl vat today from my contact
