Maybe he meant, "why will people stop hanging out in Off Topic if it didn't count towards their post count?"

Answer is simple...so ill give it to you in the form of a question: Would partake in activites in an MMO like WoW is it didn't give you XP? Most will answer no, you want you actions to have consequences. The Same for the Off Topic section, you want every post you make to be important even if your post is "Ek is Honger" or something similarly random.

That is indeed what I meant.

And in answer to the highlighted question - that's exactly what Guild Wars is and why I've logged close to 2000 hours in it ;) In short, yes :p

And that why right next to the Highlighted Question i put the "Most will answer no" as there are people who will.

Secondly last time i checked Guild Wars was going the way of the Dodo... maybe now we know why. Deep down everybody want to be rewarded for what they do. As the saying goes, nothing in life is free and if it is nobody wants it.

I can't counter your first argument and you can't exactly argue it either as none of us have figures to back that up.

And with regards to Guild Wars going the way of the Dodo - huh? In March it reached the 6 million accounts created mark. It's still selling 200k copies per quarter, despite ArenaNet placing all but around 5 devs on the Guild Wars 2 project. The game is still teeming with players.

Anyway, that's extremely off topic...but my point is that I personally try to stay away from the carrot on a stick mentality of needing to be rewarded for simply existing :D I post because I enjoy it. I play games, such as Guild Wars, because I enjoy them. The number next to my name doesn't really say much other than how often I may hang out here.

I have been proven wrong and i am man enough to admit it. Been a nice Debate, look forward to our next one.;)

My suggestion would be to include a VB game od some sort I've seen some good ones on other forums. There is one where players work together as a single nation to fight other players who are members of different nations. Each member begins their adventure by choosing a Nation which had certain advantages over other nations. They begin with a few soldiers and a bit of gold, and must build their army by fighting other players.

It was real fun.

Won't an age restricted section scare some people away and detract from the image of My Gaming being a website for the whole family? If that's what the goal even is...

Uhm, I have to ask why?

Did something happen I am unaware of or did I perhaps miss some very special and exciting verbal diarrhea, maybe something of the pixelated variety?

Lol, I'm just speaking out of experience when I say that when I see a site that has an 18+ section, I can't help but think "dodgyyyyy! :p"

Nothing Specific. One of our newer Member Angus is only 11 and i dont mind children, even though i think you shouldnt let your 11 year old wonder the internet alone, its just he hangs in the tk and sometime we go a bit off the rails. And we just feel that its not a safe environment for young children. Lynus is there and he's 17 i think as is Bannana Gurl who is like 17 also. Thats fine they have the sense to tell when we're being serious and when we're just jesting.

I dont want it advertised. Its just that if you go onto a thread that is afe restricted it should say so. And im not talking about alot of threads just basically the TK and some stuff in off topic. But i dont think is possible so im guessing we will be stuck with the little wippersnapper.

I think it is up to the members to control themselves anyway... in fact the regulars should be setting a good example, especially where young impressionable minds are at stake.
It could even be classified as a member's social responsibility.

Anyway, have a good weekend all!

That is all good and well but since we dont always know how old other members are you basically asking us to be nice the whole time... Thats like asking Klingon's to be nice....

It's probably been mentioned before but I'd like to see Spoiler boxes implemented.

Also when we getting our sick and evil smilies? :p
