MyGaming classifieds section now live

MyGaming has implemented a classifieds section for those who wish to buy/sell/swap their games, hardware, and other stuff.

We're squeezing the button into the menu at the moment, but for now you can access the section here: http://mygaming.co.za/classifieds

We are using the default template to avoid breakages in future updates to the forum software, so if you have complaints about the layout or suggestions for functionality improvements - believe me, I've probably already noticed them myself.

If the section becomes very busy we will look at working on improving the design.

Just remember to use very descriptive titles for your adverts to help people search.

Template sounds like a lot of work to enforce. Common sense should suffice. People must be as descriptive as possible if they hope for people to pick up their advertised product.
 
Nice, hopefully it takes off! I'll put a couple of odd games on there I never play.

I just hope it doesn't get too big that we start getting scammers posting shit. Much better buying from guys who you know of from the forums (could always look at the post count I guess).

Please make it a 300 post minimum to post. I see already we have idiots posting new stuff for more than you pay at shops and suppliers.
 
I am a regular on carbonite and a lot of people have been scammed the past few months. Maybe some details on the user (es ID nr, tel nr etc.) must be available to the mod/admin of this section. Just to minimize the chance of being scammed, a wee bit.

I second this ..... regulars will have no problem with stringent security measures, only the scammers will and that's fine by me.
 
Thanks for the suggestions. We are looking into improving the item description fields.

We will implement a 3-month membership, 50 post minimum before people have access to advertising in the classifieds.

While we could have phone numbers visible to admin, what's to prevent people from using a fake number?
 
3 months subscription to mygaming? just need to clarify as im a fairly new member to mygaming but not to mybroadband.
 
The classifieds section needs to be incorporated into the forum.

A section just for classifieds.
Create a thread and add details,
Questions can be asked ect.
Then set it up so that if you have been a member here for 3 months, you can post an add and anyone can comment.

The current setup doesn't work and it has never worked.
