Well pretty straight forward guys and girls.

Explain your Nick.

Where did you get it or how did you come up with it?
Does it have a special meaning?
how long have you been using it?

Small comments or large stories welcome.
 
I used to get drunk with my friend just about every night while we were jobless teenagers. He had a beanie in his room with the word "maplas" embroided on it. I would always be wearing this when I woke up in the mornings for some or other arb reason. It later on evolved to plaster and Maplassie, and Maplassie it just stuck.
 
So explain yours :p Do you enjoy Collecting Souls?

Mine? pfft I suck with names and I like dragons and stuff so i just added something to make up likeness to the word Dragon... bleh
I've seen other Dragonic's aswell, weird, thought the real word is Draconic... ohwell...
 
From the old arcade gaming days when everyone still added ACE nxt to their names on the score list so shortened mine from my first name and ace at the back...

uhhm that is 23 years ago wow....
 
My nick "Sou1Co11ector" came from a 1996 film by Peter Jackson, starring Michael J. Fox. It was about this guy who lost his wife and after the trauma from the experience he could see ghosts.

Long story short, there was this serial killer's ghost who started killing people by reaching into their chests and crushing their hearts from the inside - yeah pretty cool. He looked like the grim reaper, but they called him the Soul Collector.

That's my story and I have been using Sou1Co11ector since 1996. WOW that's 15 years!

Edit: I would love collecting souls... Dragging souls kicking and screaming to the underworld... good times. When is the grim reaper due for retirement?

Murph has been my nickname since high school, and OmegaFenix and/or Grimspoon added the 'Zor' on the end for some reason :p

Hence, MurphZor

well my main gaming nick is Amphiptere which have used for over a decade.
It's a type of guardian dragon, initially got a tattoo of one after much decision and research and the gaming nick just fell into place from it. It has alot of meaning to me which is something I keep to myself and for my own benefit.

The kiruna nick is just a alt that use, nothing special about it. I think it's a swedish town actually :p
 
Wlad is basically an acronym. It used to be Vlad which is also an acronym. Vlad standing for "Value Life Accept Death" and Wlad is the Afrikaans counterpart "Waardeer Lewe Aanvaar Dood".

I've been using Vlad since about 1997 but I changed it to Wlad when my father passed away in 2005. The Vlad wasn't always an acronym, I chose it back then because of my fascination with Vlad Tsepes a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, but when my father passed I figured out the acronym and noticed that it works in Afrikaans as well so I chose to use the Afr one.

The most irritating thing is people (online) not knowing it's Afr and then trying to pronounce it. I usually end up being called w lad or weelad or something.

Well mine is pretty much double barrel.

Syco = Came from the crazy girls I dated and was told that I pulled them outta Tara (Mental Institution). :o
Grim = Came from playing paintball where I used to take guys out from right under their noses and they never saw me, whereas few were lucky to take me out when I was spotted.

So long story short, while playing games online I just upped and changed it to Sycogrim back in 2003 :)

Well I was really into my russian history. So Tsar just sounded cool:)

2009 I chose the nick.

i am extremely addicted to racing games since my yung days more than anything else and i had a honda civic a few years back which had a dohc (dual overhead cam) vtec engine which is essentially where the dohc part comes from

the wp part comes from my counterstrike days @ cput when i made a good kill *cough to be honest I always haxored that game* they would always send ingame messages saying dohc-wp (meaning well played dohc) and since wp also means western province i added it to the dohc part back in 2007.

so the break it down

Dohc - short for dual overhead cam also related to my addiction to racing games and the engine one of my previous cars had
WP - Short for western province and well played (not wikiPedia)

and there you have it.

My nick just suits me well as I normaly die in blazing hail of bulltes.
Thats why it's BlaZing or BlaZingZA depending on the games servers if blazing is taken.

Had the nick since about 2006.
