I played some more last night. This game seems really easy. I was level 1 and cleared out a cave of bandits near the beginning without dropping below 80% health. Is anyone else finding that?

If its too easy up the difficulty setting.

In the beginning it is really easy. But enemies grow according to your level.

Jeez I am digging the randomness of the dragon attacks. One moment still travelling somewhere on a quest, then BOOOOM! One lands. Adds a nice element of excitement to the game.

Wasnt that in Oblivion? As far as I know in Skyrim Enemies dont Scale. Which is why when u first start the giants are near on impossible.

Or u go to a new little village and as soon a ur like.. Oh.. This place is nice, u hear a "raaaaaaawgr!!" And then boom! A dragon lands on a roof of a building...

But what's nice about that is that u have some help to kill it quicker...:)

On a side note.. Does anyone else have shadowmere?? Or has anyone else finished the dark brotherhood main quest..?

You can level up destruction quickly on the shadowmere since it cant die, just cast until your mana depletes wait and hour (press T to wait) and cast again, rinse and repeat until level 100 :p

Skyrim enemies scale in the same way Fallout 3's enemies scaled. Someone tried explaining it to me last night, and said that it works according to area. The developers don't want you going into certain areas too early, so in those areas enemies can be up to five levels higher than you. Areas that are considered easy can have enemies up to five levels below your level.

Yeah I remember something along those lines aswel.

Anybody else liking the hole no xp for completing quests? Instead only for increasing you skills?

Anyone else notice that the shrine of talos doesn't give u anything... U go to active effects and it says shout countdown time less 0%.. Isn't it supposed to be like 20% since the necklace is less 20% countdown....???

Yeah, it's always been present in TES games, if I remember correctly. I prefer it, as it's a nice way for the game to ensure once you reach a certain level you at least have the skills to match that level. It can still be broken, like getting to level 20 by only increasing smithing and enchanting, or something like that, but you'd have to go out of your way to do that. :P

Yeah But didn't you get xp in Oblivion?

I think you would stuggle to get to level 20 just with Smithing, cost me almost 2K gold to increase it from 40 odd to 60 which only bumped my char level by 1 & a half.

I foundout the hardway in Oblivion that if you use exploits to get everything you want the game becomes very boring. Which is why I am avoiding anysuch thing in Skyrim.

The game is highly addictive :/
One nice feature is that enemies stay dead, unlike other rpg's if you exit and re-enter the area, they respawn, which is highly irritating if you're just passing through the area and have to kill them over and over again.

The XP only from skills is kewl but then it kinda takes the motivation away from doing the small quests, did a short 2 minute quest last night and realised that there was absolutely no reward :/ Unless... the goodwill from doing the quest will help me later on in the game... hmmm i wonder.

Im sure there are the odd ones like that but I've found that many small quests lead to bigger quests or offer some gold reward or increase in skill.

It's a bit bugged. It does give a reduction in shout cooldowns, but I'm not sure how much. It also stacks with the necklace.

Well I found something cool with the Thieves Guild.

Vex and the other guy, each have 4 different job types you can do. It is quick and pays around 200 gold each. So if you need some gold do those and they are quick to complete like 5 minute quests.

Break in and steal an item. Steal an item and frame someone for doing it. Change the numbers in their BOOKS to reflect different incomes so that they don't notice the money we steal etc.

They can take longer if you however decide to rob the places blind while you're there :)

Will check that out.

Some of the companion missions (in dungeons) to tend to through a lot of coin your way. Did one last night and stepped out of there with 2K extra. But I do search EVERYTHING and loot every corpse that I find.

I still feel that being able to join all 4 "guilds" is a bit stupid. If you choose Companions, winterhold & thieves guild should close off. I mean how can u be a master thieve and a honorbound warrior & a arch mage? Also you can join the dark brotherhood but if you get caught other factions should expel u.
