Assassin's Creed Revelations Thread

No doubt I'm keen on getting AC: Revelations because the fact that we get to see more of the whole intriguing story is just what will always keep me supporting the series.

Hopefully AC3 is going to come up with something big and unbelievable - focus more on their strengths and polish up where their weaknesses are (according to one of the reviews I read AC:R attempted some sort of First-Person mode - not a good addition, so they say) All in all I'm very keen on seeing what they've come up with in AC:R :)

Wonder which time period AC3 will take place in ?
I'm thinking they might focus it on modern day assassin Desmond and his fight against Abstergo and their evil templar plans but they might just introduce another ancestor, maybe from the times of the french revolution? :)

"Throughout the course of the game, the three protagonists from the previous games are featured: Ezio, Altair, and Desmond. It has been announced that it is the last game to feature Ezio Auditore da Firenze and the final game to be set in the Renaissance era."
From wikipedia :P

I was a bit sad when they switched from Altair to Ezio, i prefer to play games set as far back as possible. The gun in the last one was just a downer :/ However the Renaissance setting grew on me, and i only hope they don't push it too close to the modern era in the next game.

Didn't AC 2 take place in the Renaissance era?

Yes, it was, and so is Revelations for the Ezio part of the story - from what I've read.

I caved and bought it, won't play it just yet though:(

Yep, all except the first one i think, AC2 had flashbacks to Altairs time or was it playing as Altair as a ghost like character in perma eagle vision.

Ok so how will AC3 then take place in the same era if Ubisoft has confirmed this is the last time Ezio will be the main protagonist?

Maybe it'll be based on the memories of Desmond's ancestor from Africa. I remember hearing or reading somewhere that his ancestors were from all these random places. Or maybe it'll be about an Aborigine killing off the sheep shaggers of the future...

Played it for a couple hours last night, feels very much like Brotherhood thus far but slightly tweaked. There's a whole new system of bomb-making which looks awesome, and the new combat animations are particularly savage (stick sword in dude's face, use it to snap his neck 180 degrees, retrieve sword).

Story-wise I can't say much yet, but from early on there's a strong sense that this is the chapter to conclude the tale.

Now to keep going until I get the hook blade!

I bought it. I've yet to play 2 or Brotherhood, but I couldn't resist the thought of having all 4 games so far. I'll have to wait until Christmas to even played AC2 but I'm quite excited. :D

Oh and I forgot to mention I was quite surprised by the inclusion of the soundtrack. I've always loved the music in Assassin's Creed.

True. The tracks in AC have always been impressive.
It's done by Jesper Kyd if I'm not mistaken
