MWEB could not help me cause i had a network. I am running a business from my house and thought i would try them as an ISP. They gave me a 7day trail account for 4mb/s uncapped. I tried it for a couple of minutes before i changed back to Afrihost. I called them to find out what was wrong and if everything was okay. They said that because i was using a network they could not help me. I am not using fixed ips or DNS anything. When i switched my router back to Afrihost everything was working fine again. I just think that it is bad that they just say sorry they cant help because i have a network. They called me after the 7 days and asked me what i thought and told them what had happened and they said sorry and i must enjoy my day. Did not ask if they could sort out the problem or anything. Super upset about it but its fine. I will stick to Afrihost even if i get bad pings to Cape Town servers.
 
Yea Im pretty upset with mweb aswell, im hoping this will fix the issue but ive been highly considering to change to web africa's uncapped package cause im not a heavy downloader so i doubt i will get throttled if i use lets say 30gig a month

you should also try Afrihost. They are very good and the prices are also good. You are unshaped unless you are in the top 70% of downloaders. I am never that high so its always unshaped for me. Maybe give them a go. What speed are you going to go for. They have a special with Afrihost for 25gig + 25gig for R450 around there. You can use that with line speeds up to 10mb/s.

I've been using an uncapped package from WebAfrica over the last few days. Must say, performance is fantastic. It's consistently fast and provides optimum gaming latency. I don't recall my ping jumping to anything over 40ms on the gaming servers. I queued a few downloads and was not throttled even past the threshold, in all honesty it felt like I was using my normal capped account.
 
Thanks for that info xeros1x i want to change over to the WA uncapped package because we have people in the house who cant go without youtube - they are averaging 2gigs a day and normally our titan data used to be enough i cant cope with it anymore - freaking out about cap every day. I am actually waiting to hear back from the sales people today.

I've had my Mweb 1Mbps uncapped for over a year now and have never had so much as 2 minutes worth of hassles. But for the last week my pings seem to be very erratic when playing BF3. Lag spikes and lots of stuttering. Extremely annoying.
 
I have mweb uncapped and i dont see any lag when i am playing SC2 online. Although my evony keeps DCing when i am not busy with it.

No prob, WA uncapped is definitely a good option. Let me know if you require any info regarding that.
 
Had MWEB uncapped 4mb for quite a while now, and the latency gets annoying at times, does anyone use the afrihost uncapped accounts?
 
Yeah i do. I had an issue the last couple of weeks with spikes in the connection but if i switch to a different account there was not problem. Look everyone will have different experiences with different ISP's.

Ever since the day Xero shot me with that stupid flying tuna can i swore i would never use Wage again.
