Skyrim Thread

Mainly using sneak and a bow and for close range the two handed red eagle weapon. I joined the companions and thiefs guild so far. Level 26.

Skills I tend to focus on is speech, sneak, lockpicking, pickpocket, archery and two handed combat.

One that is really frustrating my though is the constant crashing to desktop, lucky I save often. The only game I have played this year that does this, patch is needed asap.

Have you tried putting your sound settings quality down to 44100hz DVD Quality?

Strangely, I haven't had a single CTD yet, and I've clocked more than 60 hours by now.

Ive had it crash out to steam a couple of times, I have a feeling it has something to do with graphics drivers though. Running the game on max on ultra, everything maxed out. Might be a little issue in there somewhere.

Did more of the dark brotherhood quests and found them... easy. Not just easy to kill but easy to get away. Also I wish they would bring in an anonymity feature I did a hit in Solitude, it was clean, I was hidden when the arrow left my bow and hit its target. During my skulk out of the city not once did the eye open fully yet the next time I returned I got slapped with a 1000 gold fine. :/
Similarly in Dawnstar I killed someone in the street and the guards attacked me and I fled, next time I return no fine... O.o

I really hope there are some more creative kills coming my way in the Dark Brotherhood quest line as some of my fav memories of Oblivion are from the Dark Brotherhood quest line.

Will try that. Genereally I don't touch the sound settings so didn't think of that. Have tried different gfx drivers and the issue has remained. Only game that does this, all other games are 100% stable so hopefully their patch or a new set of gfx drivers fixes this.

I complained to my brother about the same thing, no one saw me commit the act so how in the hell do I get a bounty on my head. BTW there is another way to do the hit in Solitude (a much more elegant way), one that kept me bounty free. :)

Ooo do share via PM.

oi! Don't pull an ANC on us!

Sharing is caring. :p

Fair enough, didn't want rob any of you of the opportunity to pull of the kill by your selves. I've already made the kill and am just keen to hear how he did it.

But Share away.

So today I went to the lybrinthian again to store away all my collected masks when I noticed that I only need 2 more dragon priest masks till I have the whole collection...:D

Hehe fine, spoiler tags ahead!

Spoiler: show
When the bride gives her speech on the balcony you will notice that there is a stone head hanging on the wall above her. If you sneak your way over there you can click on it to loosen it and it will drop down, crushing the bride. At this point I fast traveled the hell out of there and no one was the wiser.

You call that elegant?

To my logic the idea was that it had to look like a hit, to lure the main target to Skyrim so by the stone head dropping on her it may be ruled a accident. And yes I know the game doesn't share that logic but its a roleplaying game, so I role play. I took my shot from the walkway with a glass arrow to the check then sneaked along the walk day, jumped down to a rooftop then down to the street before taking the hidden entrance to Solitude (inside that tower separating the districts) and only fast travelled once I was out of the city.

Valid point. I myself don't roleplay too hard, so be me it was a successful hit. I didn't like some of the prior assassinations where I had no choice but to throw caution to the wind and attack outright...

I also don't go to deep into the actual role play but on this one I did. Which hits did you have to attack outright? I can only think of the vampires but they lived in a secluded spot and by killing both there was no witnesses.

I think it was the first three contract kills. I felt like I was being punished for not investing in stealth. Like the one mine worker woman, she was never in a secluded area except for her home at night and I couldn't break in since her door is in full view of everyone and sneaking didn't work for me there.

So I had to kill her in front of everyone...

So you are more hitman than assassin? elektronik

Yeah something like that.

Although, after I was attacked by every Tom, Dick and Claire in the whole of Solitude during my exit, I realized that my methods weren't very efficient.

From then on, my assassinations were quick and silent. :P
