Batman: Arkham City on PC hits DirectX 11 issues

Pathetic, delaying the pc release and then releasing it with a borked dx11.

Still wouldn't trade my pc for a console ever.

Dx9 still produces great graphics, it's not like the game is totally broken...

The idea if consoles with "insert disc & play" is one of the reason's I got my consoles, but it's not always that easy, with all the zero-day patches and issues they are having especially with the newer games released this year, the point is moot.

I still opt to install all my 360 games to avoid having to sit and listen to the disc spin while I try play, consoles and PC's are becoming so alike. I bet they will even include SSD drives in future consoles as a standard eventually..

>.< I hate it when a game is launched and it has a major problem like this. Especially when the game was delayed on the PC.

I blame consoles.

Don't get me wrong, I love my pc. I just prefer my XBox because I've had a lot more issues with pc gaming as opposed to console gaming in general.
I do still use my pc for everything else though...

The day one patch issue doesn't change the pop and play. Yesterday, Halo Aniversary, Pop in, 5mb patch, before I had sat down it was done and I was at the start screen.

Future consoles.... cloud based. Onlive... watch this space.

Sure, Im agree. Id gladly use my pc to develop or mod but actual gaming I prefer to be on Console.

Doesn't matter if its just slightly broken, its still a broken product. One they should have picked up in the time frame they delayed releasing the pc game. Its unacceptable to delay a release of a specific platform and then release it broken...

To all the others do we really need to turn any thread where a pc issue is discussed into a pc vs console one...

It's hard to fathom that they didn't test this after a month delay. At least I already had my fix on PS3. :)

I always thought the pop and play argument was kind of odd, especially considering how few PC games require the disk to play nowadays. Sure, the first time you have to install the game on the pc and it may be a bit of a hassle to get it set up in some cases, but after that, playing any game is just a couple of clicks away. I can play practically any game I own right now in a couple of seconds without having to to even look for a disk, never mind popping it in.

I think my "resentment", if you wanna call it that, comes from the like of MW1 (the amount of dc issues I had and had to hunt to track down what was causing it.) Fallout 3 (Save corruption, Crash to Desktop, Freezing, BSOD) and several other titles all back through the ages. Also for a long period I lived in a room above a hotel I worked for and having a massive gaming pc was out so console it was. Now with me and my wife having immigrated to the UK I couldn't bring my PC with and building up another seems like a waste if you look at what Id use it for. Rather just pick up a MacBook Pro which will run Unity & Unreal SKD, Maya and several other dev tools without issue.

As for pop and play... I can count the amount of times ive had issues with a new game on either ps3 or xbox on one hand without using all my fingers.

I would prefer a console because all of these great games are console only! It really angers me that games like Uncharted never make it to a PC :(

im so suprised by these console boys saying that pcs constantly give problems.thats old P4s you talking about right?because ive had some form of pc for well over 12 years now and havent had any issues with my games.my PS3 on the other hand well.... overheating issue(old fat 80gb model BTW) and installation on PS3 HDD takes three times longer than PC(games that do install on HDD).constant firmware updates and well, other garbage you have to install just to play online.so dont make like the PS3 doesnt take a bite out of your cap.my pc only ever needs GPU drivers and it does waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than your console does.one more thing 30fps?no thanks

People make the assumption that the game was delayed a month for ironing out bugs or something of the like. That's not the way Ubisoft works. They always delay PC versions, and then they don't touch it until release date. Just look at what a buggy piece of shit From Dust was, even after delaying it for a month. The only reason they delay PC games is either to spite PC gamers, or it's another one of their ridiculous schemes of combating piracy.
