That's because the game discourages you from tackling and puts more emphasis on interceptions, which is the trend in the modern soccer.

yea tackling in the new Fifa is quite hard, started the game going from world class on fifa11 back to semi pro and getting my ass kicked in fifa12. finally up to proffessional but still not getting the whole tackling. Ive played some guys online and I still feel like their players are homing missiles and defend like crazy compared to my defenders.
