There will be a Cosplay event and picnic at Kirstenbosch Gardens this Saturday (3 December) - and some of our local cosplayers will be attending to parade around in their latest creations.

Keep in mind that these guys are passionate about what they do, they enjoy what they do, and we'd love to see folks there who want to be part of the experience and just have some fun with us. I'll be there as a photographer/blogger, and we have a bunch of other photographers and bloggers joining us as well - including a group from Legion Ink.

Details for the event are as posted here, but I'm reposting it for posterity:
Venue
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cape Town

Date
Saturday, 3 December 2011 – 10:30AM – 1:30PM

Entry Fee
R40 – this is the fee to enter Kirstenbosch Gardens themselves – joining the cosplayers will cost you nothing more than a little bit of energy and a sense of fun.

What to Bring
- Yourself (this is important)
- Your cosplay outfit (if you’re cosplaying)
- Your camera (if you’re not)
- An open mind (if you’re experiencing something like this for the first time)
- Some munchies (the event will be part-picnic as well)
- Also bring along some sunblock (and possibly a hat) since we’ll be outside during the hottest part of the day.

Some of the attendees will also be at Organised Chaos the following weekend, so if you can't make it this weekend, come pop in on the 10th at Bellville Velodrome (R30 spectator entrance fee applies)

My brother would maybe have gone since the only thing he reads lately is Harry Potter and Naruto fan fic lol, but he has to work because I told him to so he can't make it (I am his boss :)).
But very typical of Shadowfox to post this up lol

Hentai dōjinshi? :D

Some of my friends went, I couldn't make it though.

Who organised this though, it kind of just sprung up never really heard much news of it until about the week before?

Most of the organisation and stuff took place in this group on Facebook.

Pretty much constant discussion and input from everybody involved, although two ladies (Sasha and Genevieve) were pretty much the driving forces behind it. We tried to get as much word out as possible though beforehand.

Anime and gaming covention Cape Town

Hi all,

UCT society Genshiken will be hosting a convention some time in next year, all are welcome and cosplay is a must. We will have a midnight game launch, packed with manga, anime merchandise and screenings. If you guys are interested in this sort of thing please mail me on [email protected] so that you can be added to the list and so that you can receive the full update and logistics closer to the event.
