Hi guys,

I need to get myself a new rig, but have been out of the loop for a while regarding the latest technology available. I need something that can handle some serious gaming for at least a couple of years and have some good upgrade potential. I would prefer to stay around 10,000, but would consider up to 15,000 depending.

Hope you can help ;)

What is it exactly that you need. Are you needing a complete new rig or will you be using parts / software you already have.
Things like, windows, keyboard, mouse, monitor etc etc

Well, just the case and everything in it will be new. So most important would be motherboard, graphics card and processor. Especially the motherboard is normally a critical choice.

Going to send my old one to the TV to give the PS3 a rest when watching shows and listening music. That way I keep my old screen, mouse and other accessories. :D

...just did that. Thx ;-)

But don't worry dude, haven't seen any complaints about Joker from his clients here, all just raving reviews and his prices seem top notch, so you in very capable hands.
In fact I think the computer hardware section should be re labeled Joker's business thread lol :)

You have a pm.

I would recommend going with a Sandy Bridge setup.
i5 2500K is about the best bang for buck and offers quite a bit of future proofing because of its overclocking potential.
Will go into more detail once we sort out the rest.

i second this suggestion lol.

I would suggest looking at the Evetech pc's. They come overclocked with awesome cooling and a warranty!

They tend to be fairly expensive. Usually pre built computers from companies are more expensive then the custom built pc's

Never fear when Joker is near LOL, yip I will also vouch for Joker he built me my monster rig and from the first PM to recieving my PC is was nothing but a pleasure, you will be in good hands mate

I agree with Joker here, i was looking into a 10k upgrade aswell, the 2500k chip is definitely a good way to go with all the reviews about how much this chip can be overclocked, I also would consider getting an Asus ROG m/b although there are a couple good m/b's on the market. I was thinking of getting the 570gtx although ill wait and see what happens next year when the time to upgrade gets closer.

Neah i think for his budget we could possibly squeeze a 6970 2Gb in there.

i personally dont like ATI cards, always read about problems with them whether new or old. maybe its just very unlucky that the ones iv'e come across always irritate the living daylights out of me. I steer well clear of ATI cards. probably could squeeze a 6970 in there but id rather go with nvidia even if it means going a bit over budget to get the same performance. guess its up to the buyer to decide tho:D
