As per thread title, I know that the older generation of Xbox360's used to suffer from RROD and E-74, among other overheating issues. What about the new generation of Xbox360's? Do they also suffer from this?
They do, its just not as frequent as before. Microsoft did say that new S models will be less prone to RROD errors, weather that is actually the case we will have to wait and see. I've had my older model xbox for almost two years now and its been going like a dream. Its been carted to friends houses/company end year/birthday party functions more than 20 times and still not a moment hassle with it.
If you keep your console in a well ventilated area you should not have any issues.
Oh okay, thanks. Problem is my old Xbox has RROD'd a few times and also had the E-74 error. But having searched, it seems even the PS3 has some issues. I've heard about the YLOD or something to that effect.
Yes, the ps3 also suffers from RROD or YLOD as they call it, its just one of those things. The xbox was more prone to it than the ps3, I believe from the jasper model things have improved dramatically.
Why do you ask are you looking at buying a new xbox?
I'm curious. My little brother plays on the Xbox but it has now broken down again and my father asked about the newer ones. I was under the impression that the newer models didn't suffer from it. Not really sure what to advise them on now. Given the price, I think the Xbox is a cheaper buy. PS3 is a bit much.
My jasper been good so far and I got myself one of them when they came out after initial lot went fubar. It is however not guaranteed safety as some still go RROD.
