Hi Syco,

That's a bit hectic...

Yeh it is i guess

Damn dude, that's intense. What they do?

They were downloading Terminator Salvation from a p2p program called Ares P2P and the ports used for that program were not blocked on our firewalls and router so they were able to download using it... got an email from IS the other day as they recieved a complaint from Sony Pictures....

Weird that Sony would be monitoring your IP, and a torrent download.
I have heard that these companies actually use fake torrents to indeed track ppl, but they can't intervine unless a certain amount of data is moved back and from.

Well sony monitor these P2P networks and they target specific IP's for example these guys downloaded the same file twice in a period of 2 days using 1.6gigs of bandwidth and obviously they got flagged and the mail was sent to IS regarding this as they have to investigate this matter as well...

Well I block all P2P sharing on my network as well as FTP connections as I dont want this company to get into sh!t becoz of pp downloading music etc....

Noobs they are.

Its not the amount of bandwidth at all, its the multiple concurrent connections from the Same IP to the Same files at different intervals that raised the suspicions. Unlucky for them it was a torrent uploaded by sony themselves.

as I said the movie studios are starting to do this themselves to trap and track downloads.

Loool at Noobs. And that boys and girls is why you shouldn't pirate. If you do you will burn in a special level of hell reserved for child molesters, people who talk in the cinema and PS3 Fanbois.... (That last one is a joke...)

IS is like that though (late response).

They are against piracy period. We had a similar issue with guys downloading last year, instant dismissal
