The two handhelds are completely different you do know that right? Yes it sold less but 50, 000 units shy is not that bad considering its a handheld, and its got one of the highest price tags on earth... Atleast sales didnt stop it just going slowly

Yes, uhm, they are different! One is made by Nintendo the other by Sony (I don't really see where this is going...)
The 3DS is also a handheld and the only direct competitor to the PS Vita. The launch price of the PS Vita Wi-Fi only version is $249.99 while the 3G version launches at $299. The launch price of the 3DS was $250.
So, by direct comparison, we can say that the 3DS is in fact "bigger" than the PS Vita in Japan. A whole 15% bigger in just two days.
We shouldn't take this data too seriously though; it's just a launch burst. It'll be interesting to see what happens after around 6 months.

By me saying that they are different i dont just mean they manufactured by Sony and Nintendo... Even though they in the same market they dont sell to the same market segment... For example the wii that outsold both the Xbox and PS3. Nintendos 3DS is not aim at the same market as Sonys Vita, they dont have similar game line ups, the one is more powerful then the other... So even though they both handhelds they arent playing in the same space. If you want to compare unit to unit sales then yes i agree Nintendo out sold Sony, but it doesnt mean they in the same line overally.
lets see the sales figures later on maybe it get better, or maybe it wont... but i believe they shouldnt be pit against each other...
