I thought Star Trek Online was a flop.

Open to interpretation, honestly speaking. It's going Free 2 Play in less than 2 weeks, so that alone should be reason enough to look in and mess around a bit.

It's also different enough from most cookie cutter MMOs - there's a bit of a learning curve involved. Also, they've made a lot of changes and added a lot of content to the game.

My final point: since the majority of the people are Trek fans (in a big way - they talk about some things on a technical level way above what I know), the community on there is actually really pleasant. I haven't come across anything that nearly approaches the amount of dickery I've found in any other MMO. I got pulled into a fleet, without any needless questions, and one of the first things the two leaders personally did was drag me along on some of their missions so I could get some xp and loot.

I've been playing for a little over a month now - so far I can say: not really something for hard-core MMO fans, but I'm having fun so far, I don't actually regret paying the initial subs I've paid for Dec/Jan - and I might actually consider keeping my subs running, even if only for the Cryptic Points I get every month that lets me buy stuff from the Store.

Morning all! Lovely start to the day with Anti Virus updates screwing up and killing internet connectivity :S Looks like all is up and running now again though.

What antivirus?

Another day of gale force winds for the uk.

I think I'm getting old... Replaced machinea supremacy as my go to work music with Hooked on Classics Vol 1 - 4....

lol yeah, guess it did keep me busy for 35mins at least :)

@ czc - It is Kaspersky running on Cyberoam UMTS devices. So not the standard release as it gets tweaked a little. Busy writing a nice email about it to the SA Office reps as this is NOT on. You can't release software that hasn't been tested and that then goes and gets stuck in a loop on the unit. I mean it kills ALL connectivity ?!

Luckily I have managed to convince the boss to rather go with a German product as of this year so soon I can replace them all with proper engineering! :)

Now I just need to sit with Telkom about a bad line in JHB :S
