Skyrim Thread

SO ... I installed Oblivion with a mod or two and I wasn't even done creating my charcater when it crashed in the exact same way as Skyrim did. I then decided to boot The Witcher 2 (after resetting) and sure as hell it did the exact same thing. I'm guessing it's hardware related, must be the GPU overheating or something. My brother (who knows a lot more about hardware than I do) will have a look at it tomorrow. I really hope it's not my GPU dying as I really don't have the cash to buy a new one now. :(

The weird thing is that Witcher was working fine yesterday and it never crashed, but it crashed now after less than 5 minutes. The only difference is yesterday I played Arena and tonight I played the main game.

Started playin again.. And I noticed one thing... One does not simply sneak with heavy armour...:/ Also.. I remember someone having a problem with the whole camera shaking while in a cave or something and I figured out what it is.. Itz not a glitch or anything.. I was the greybeards summoning him to go to them on the mountain... Also.. I'm now playing with a nord and playing as Mage fighter using bound weapons as well as normal weapons with some destruction magic in between..:)

Which card? Maybe try MSI afterburner to see what your gpu is doing? There are some monitoring apps for other components as well.

The Skyrim Thread is still going strong I see :P Still tryna get my hands on it and it still looks like it's as popular as ever :D

My eBucks are almost available for December which is what I plan on using to acquire Skyrim [PC].

Just a quick question... How are the bugs going? Or rather, is it less buggy than Fallout? Because Fallout is a couple of years old already and still buggy as hell with multiple CTDs every hour... Based on the Fallout games, I assume Bethesda isn't really into fixing bugs once released. I haven't played any of the older Elder Scrolls games, but I heard somewhere that Skyrim is using the same engine as Fallout NV.

You heard wrong :)

Bug were never major with Skyrim although some folk had lots of CTDs but they were in the minority. Only way to tell for sure is to see for yourself.

Nah, it's still basically the gamebryo engine, they just updated it heavily and renamed it. It wasn't built from the ground up, which is a pity, because the gamebryo engine is pretty shit and very limiting. In Bethesda's hands at least.

Think I'm gonna take a break from skyrim. Maybe will pick it up again when they actually start fixing gameplay bugs and start improving/balancing the game a bit more so that there's an actual challenge to be had.

i have finally given up on skyrim :-( the dizzying number of missions and the fact that far too many NPC's shared the same voice eventually put me off. as much as i loved it, i am beginning to feel that Dark Souls had a better approach. far fewer NPC's, but so much more engaging and interesting

Lol yeah, I agree they should have used more voice actors. About a quarter of all the nord npc's sound like arnold schwarzenegger. And all the nord women sound hot. Also, where are all the fat people?

gotta agree with dizzy-ness. i cant play longer than 5 minutes and my head starts spinning like crazy. game was cool but yea think im tired of the game now.

The game is still awesome! If you are bored of it, you must have played it to death in the first few days :) I play 10 hours per week, and can't wait to get home today so I can finish the mission I am currently on.

Definitely worth buying!

Agreed, probably one of the best single player game i've ever played! :D
Brotherhood was the first game I played in the AC series-I didn't quite get the story, but I still loved the game. In Brotherhood, Ezio has clear rivals (Borgias) whereas in Revelations, his just helping people out, while trying to get the keys and the girl

BTW: did anyone else lose their wife in Skyrim?

Haha, i completely forgot about my vrou :P
I love assassins creed as well, played all that were on PC so far and from the looks of things Revelations doesn't match up story wise to the previous games
