STALKER 2 development going ahead

The same way Interplay kept developing Fallout 3 or 3D Realms kept developing Duke Nukem Forever? God I hope not.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves. Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Pessimist is what an Optimist calls a Realist.

History has a way of repeating itself. Once a studio starts having financial issue its never a good sign. It precede the cancellation of many promising products. Instead of holding out for the studio to push out some half assed rendition of what could have been a great product (see Duke Nukem Forever) Id rather it just A) Cancel the title forthwith and put the matter to bed or B) Pass the title on to a studio that could potentially finish it.

As for beauty of the world I'll say this:

'We are all just atom sized particles desperately searching for meaning in the unforgiving vortex of entropy that is the Universe.'

CEO believed to have quit the Stalker group
Ukraine studio GSC Game World is fighting on after alleged financial troubles and widespread reports that the studio had almost certainly closed.
The firm is seeking immediate cash to drive its current project to competition.

"We are still in the process of seeking funding to back up the project," GSC spokesperson Oleg Yavorsky told Edge.
Kiev based GSC Game World broke onto the scene with its Stalker first-person shooter, which the group is now creating a sequel to.

"We are hopeful things turn out well eventually,” Yavorsky said. “The team really wants to see Stalker continue."
It has been widely reported that the studio’s CEO and founder, Sergei Grigorovich, has departed from the outfit. That claim has not yet been verified.
It is believed that Grigorovich himself informed staff that the studio would close, though reasons are not clear.
