The wifi only is not a bad option. Price is not too bad.
Still holding on to my trustee 3DS, but just saying. I'll be more open this year no longer a PC and 3DS fanboy(not changing my equipment one bit but just not bashing others)

But on a seperate note(slight rant nothing serious), it's amazing how new they're making Augmented Reality sound. Sure they're doing it better than Nintendo did with the 3DS, and you can't really saying they're just copying Nintendo since thats just how the industry is, but still.

Hmmm....I'll pass thanks.

I am more than happy with my 3DS, and I think that more than one portable gaming device would be excessive [strain on budget].

I am sure I shall take a close look at it when it reaches East London though.

Do want!

IMHO the price isn't ridiculous, especially seeing as a pre-order on Kalahari is R3300 for the 3G model and Golden Abyss is only R400.

Let's hope more retailers put together some tasty launch specials.

Comparing it to the price of high end phones, which cost probably around the same to make, it really isn't that bad...pity you can't put a sim in it and use it as a phone as well :D

The prices are not bad considering, the only this is the games, but maybe it be worth it not all of them but a select few atleast. Sony needs to work on the game pricing thats all.

It's nice, just not costs-the-same/more-as-a-whole-console nice. That price is over the top and should be sneered at, not rejoiced at.

+1

Way to expensive. R3400 is just retarded. I'd rather spend that on a PS3 or X360 and just use my phone to game while traveling.

I reckon a price drop will happen by the end of the year (holding thumbs for it as a matter of fact) - I'm not keen on latching onto new gadgets right after launch anyways.

I might actually go for the 3G version when the time comes :)

i have no doubt that the price is going to have to drop. Sales in Japan have been very poor and i don't predict massive sales (apart from the inital wave of gadgetphiles).

I suspect that if sales tank similarly to how they did in Japan we could see a price cut a lot sooner. It's clear that this device is just too expensive and it will definitely hurt sales.

True enough - although the 3DS launched at the same price-point. Didn't require all the extras that the Vita does, but at the same time the Vita is many times more powerful than the 3DS.

Then again, comparisons between the two aren't necessarily easy ...
