Guild Wars 2

I've been getting really excited for Guild Wars 2. Need something to give me a break from World of Warcraft!

I went and bought GW1 the otherday even though I know it's crap, and I can now confirm that it is definitely crap. I just hope the time I'm putting in for those carry over achievements etc is worth it and that GW2 truly is amazing.

I didnt go and buy WOW, I know it's crap, I can confirm its crap after playing it for a weekend. I can confirm that Guild Wars is not crap, I still play it, I am currently in the game... different tastes for different people :)

The achievements are for appearances only, no god-mode or super-slicer double alari sword +20, I hope you understand it this way... otherwise I dont know what you think 'worth it' will be. I sure dont want an unfair advantage over someone that never played GW. As for GW2 being truly amazing, I will still be happy with what I have seen even if the game does not end up amazing, sure alot better than anything else available.

Seriously though.After 6 or so years of GW1 I can asure you it is not crap.Yes ppl have dif tastes but I am an RPG fanboy, even more so when you can RPG with friends mmo style.Call me old school but I just couldn't ever get into WoW.I never made it past level 45 or something, and that was horrible to say the least.Only reason I lasted that long was because of a girl who wanted me to play WoW.I mean if a female can't get me to do that, then it speaks a thousand words.

I don't play GW1 anymore because I did everything I wanted to, eventually you get sick or played out.
Guild Wars 2 will renew that RPG monster and then goodbye life *Waves*

Seriously? Crap?

Guild Wars is not a true MMO it is more like the most EPIC RPG game you'll get to play, except with one difference, it is geared to multiplayer and online play. So thus a Online Role Playing Game.

The game itself is great, spans 3 continents plus one expansion over 800+ quests.

Also remember this Guild Wars isn't like WOW, where gear score and the best weapons win the game. Guild Wars has 8 skills on your bar and you have to choose them wisely, all players are on the same level (maxed at 20) and all weapons and armour are equal - not game breaking imba items.

So Guild Wars is a game of skill and not items. Play it, join a guild and have fun and get some stuff unlocked for Guild Wars 2. P.S. Unlocks offer only cosmetic items, no better stats for weapons, or armour that will take a planet falling on you, it will just make it more pretty and give you other skins for your weapons and armour.
 
I think the game is going to be extremely good. I don't think it will be a WoW killer by any means but rather a different kind of good. After trolling through tons of trailers, there are so many things to look forward to starting with the way your character moves and fights. No auto hit, can cast and fire on the move, blocking an attack with your shield. The details of the landscapes look amazing too!

Meh I ramble on and repeat what has been said countless times....

I think WoW is killing itself, to be completely honest. Even hard-core fans (I know a few) are a little leery of the upcoming expansion.

If ANet keep to their promise of getting awesome graphics to run on dated machines, I see no reason for it to give WoW a substantial kick in the nuts. Also - upcoming WoW numbers are probably going to be horribly and artificially inflated because of that whole Diablo III/WoW crossover special deal that they're planning.

Yep WOW will definitely get back players in with that deal... about 99% of players want Diablo 3.. the other 1% is me :/

No other MMO (or other game) will surpass the amount of success Blizzard have with WOW. All the other new MMOs (WOW clones included :O) will with the help of Blizzard themselves eventually get it to die... but I think at least three more years before that happens.

As long as GW2 is better than the current MMOs, I am happy. And it is alot better... seeing 100s of videos, and reading countless articles I know it; so I am very happy :p I say this again, even if its not going to be perfect, it does most things better. Sigh, so we need to get info asap here as soon as Beta Weekend info arrives!!!
 
Quite right guys. I don't need GW2 to be more popular than WoW, I just need it to be a good game like GW1 - hopefully better. :D
 
As off last year with the last big expo and with all the professions being released, I have to say the game is perfect as it is right now. Wouldn't mind handing over my money for it in the condition it was then.

Even if the game doesn't kill WOW, that's fine, those people will one day (around 2057) get tired of paying monthly for WOW and move on to something different.

I'm also going to love the fact that the game has (if it's anything like the previous one) a storyline to follow. Unlike WoW where the main motive for playing is to go on raids.

I used to think I could enjoy the story of wow.. until i realized that every mob I ever killed simply respawned...
