To be honest I don't have a cooking clue. Although I expect there will be some use for it later on - maybe on DS9, but I haven't found any use for it yet. Apart from playing Dabo.

Yeah when I was reading a bit at the Dabo table it seems you can get some items somewhere but yeah wtf no idea.

Not sure how your going to make a started guide for this game since there is just soo much stuff compacked and you pretty much level so fast before you know what you doing your already a commander haha :D Since it took me 10 levels to realise I must dismiss my one science officer so I could get a engineering officer. And then the Duty officers I am like okay just send them on assignment but other than that I am like WTF o well.

Yeah ... I kinda realised that halfway in. But then again, maybe that makes it more worth the effort :p
 
I have to say, one thing that really annoys me with this game is the ridiculously long space battles. They are just too overdrawn, it simply takes too much time to do even one mission and it's really putting me off.
 
Woot! I played a bit.

I know nothing about MMO's though and when can one exit? At any time?

Hmm and is there a manual to download somewhere... time to go read up on how all of this works.

Whats your ship set to?

Solitude yes you can exit anytime, only in events where you can loose something that its not nice to exit hehe

lol ... I'm kinda working on something of the sort - but STO is so immensely complicated in comparison to your standard cookie cutter MMO that it's still a ways away from being finished :p

Ahaha :D probably. There is a little box on the bottom of your screen where you can play with your power-settings between your four ship-systems: Weapons, Shields, Engines and Aux.

I usually set my Weaps to 75 and Shields to 60-70, and drop engines and Aux power down to minimum or near min. It'll help if we can group up a bit and help each other with missions though.

Interesting, I will give those settings a look tonight. Thanks for the tip.
 
I'm willling to help whoever needs it with missions, got 2 Rear Admirals (one soon to be Admiral).

Have we created a Fleet yet ? If not should I register one so long ?

Yeah ... please go for it - I wasn't entirely keen on registering one myself, and no one seems to be able to decide on a name that fits. And I'm too lazy to run a fleet :p
