No, in terms of tech, a year is like a year. Four to five months is between one quarter and a half a year. Lets not try to redefine time now
And my understanding - based on various reading - is that the high-end Kepler (the GTX680 or whatever) will be amongst the first of the Kepler cards to be released. Ofc, the dual-gpu GTX690 will be released later, but that's hardly surprising. The dual-gpu 7990 - or whatever it'll be called - is still lurking in the wings, more than a month after the real release.
You missing my point..Nvidia has not confirmed a launch date for the new cards.
This is all speculation and not hard facts. As for 7990 it said to launch in March.
Again We have not seen pics of the 6xx series, we have no hard facts about it, no one does.
Oh and in terms of Tech...5 months after you're main rivals launches their flagship card is like a year later, as Nvidia have already lost a chunk of the market, and believe me...Its not gonna be easy for them to get it back.
The 7970 is a master piece, selling for less than current GTX580's 3GB's and completely destroying it.
We live in a world where people demand the best and fastest right there and then, if Nvidia's new cards aren't faster than AMD's new series I see a hard road ahead of them especially launching so long after their main rival's launch, as AMD are already reportedly working on their new GPU's.
Oh and I am not the only one that thinks this, do yourself a favor and check any decent hardware review site and get their thoughts behind this.
Oh and incase you haven't noticed AMD have adopted a seriously hardcore setup for their drivers. Their drivers are now better than ever, where on the other hand Nvidia have taken a nose dive in the department, constant driver issues, that just don't seem to get resolved.
If you read this and think I am an AMD fanboy, you're damn right I am..I own and have owned more graphics cards in my life than most people.
AMD are the new king of the Hill.
