Looking at Crytek’s GFACE

Most intriguingly, the service will have some sort of cross-platform interaction – where presumably you’d be able to have a friend on his iPhone providing air support while you soldier on via PC – all while someone uses their tablet PC with an over-head map barking out tactics.
That's kind of those 'nice to talk about' scenarios but when you get back to reality you find they typically don't happen. It's hard enough to balance and sell when you're only dealing with one platform never mind half a dozen.

Aim for the Stars, if you miss you can still hit the moon.

All we need is one company to pioneer and do it at least partially and the other companies will jump on it and drive the concept further.

I get that, but at the same time talk is cheap. It's very easy to say "Hey check at all the cool new things you will be able to do with our platform", it's not so easy to actually have that stuff.

I guess what I am saying is, I'll believe it when I see it. :)

We'll have to wait until it's out of closed beta - but presumably what they're advertising is actually being implemented :) I think I'll definitely sign up and give this a bash when it's live.

Granted, with SA's internet and ability to facilitate stuff like this, I'm not sure I hold out much hope for this being a huge thing, locally - but I really dig the concept.

I get what you're saying. But what was your reaction when you first heard of onlive (except for our typical - that wouldn't work in South Africa). I guess Omega is the only one that can share his thoughts on the matter from this perspective fully.

I'f I manage to get into the Beta I'll let you guys know how it pans out.

Considering that I own a Onlive Micro Console? :p I maintain Cloud gaming IS the future. How far in the future? I dunno. Online has a mobile app with some games featuring touch controls or you can use a bluetooth enabled controller to make things easier.
