Guild Wars 2

I did not request an explanation on the technicality of setting up a server/server cluster, etc.

I asked for clarity on why so much hostility towards our attempt at a "REQUEST TO CONSIDER PETITION" for servers for the "ENTIRE AFRICAN CONTINENT".

I know full well that we won't have enough players locally to justify the cost of a server, but for the continent there might just be a chance.

Also regarding the Data Centres, my petition is worded in such a way that ArenaNet/NCSoft, if seen as a potential viable option, then and only then, negotiate with local ISP's and/or the local telecom provider(s) to assist with the setup and/or providing some of the infrastructure for this.

We aren't demanding anything from ArenaNet/NCSoft, we are merely requesting them to consider it, if and only if it seems a viable option, nothing more!

So here is my question again, why all the hate at our REQUEST TO CONSIDER PETITION?

Realy don't know why people go so on about it.. if people are trying to ask for possibility for local servers in South Africa let them, if they don't get it right atleast people tried, I will always try and ask for local MMORPG servers that launch, untill we get one in South Africa!!

I registered for beta last night and still no confirmation email :(. Although it said it's done and I should check for email... Really hope I still stand a chance if I don't get confirmation.

I have also been very excited about GW2 for a very long time but....
I will not be playing any sort of beta. I have found that participating in any beta for any MMO shortens the lifespan of that MMO for me by a great deal as, in effect, you are playing through content in the beta, content you will skip through quickly the second time around once it goes live.

Good luck to you all ;-)

Play the classes you don't like that mutch in the BETA and those you want to play when it's released :P

If their was a Horde/Alliance system, then i would play Horde during BETA and play Alliance when the game release, because i never play the HORDE side in any game realy.

But i will be testing the classes/races out during BETA if i receive a invite, and see what i like most, so when the game release i know what i must pick.

Yep and play a lot more PvP than PvE. It's still going to hurt the experience though. :(

Problem is Africa only really has two countries worth considering in the online gaming segment and that is South Africa and Egypt, which are unfortunately on the damn opposite ends of the continent, add to that Egypt is significantly closer to Europe than SA. Even Nigeria would be better off on EU servers than SA servers. So when you look at it that way there is zero reason to put a server in SA 'for Africa'.

Agreed, I find that doing a beta for an MMO removes the "shiny", it even removes the drive to explore the world to an extent. You become knowledgeable with the game system before it is even released and thus jaded that much quicker.

Its almost here, for the sake of King Rurike, nothing can spoil GW or rather GW2 :D Well Maybe if they hired Julias Malema, that could spoil it a little ;)

Fracken Crackers I are can likes to not be wanting to wait anymore :D Ima play that Beta from 0 to 1 and 1 to 0 again...
