Aion - General Discussion

So do I need to re-download the client in order to play? When I try to log in it tells me it cannot find the server...
 
Weird mine downloaded the gameforge client and then linked to my aion folder. I downloaded a small patch

You need to download the GameForge launcher/installer from the Aionfreetoplay.com site. Once you install and run that, it will find your Aion installation and use it for playing Aion. You might have to download some additional patches (1 - 2GB), but not the whole client.

Depending on how up to date your client is.
 
hey guys.. I am trying to register on the Aion F2P Website (http://www.aionfreetoplay.com/website/register) but it keeps giving me the same bullshit story of
" the account name must begin with a letter and consist of 4 to 14 lowercase letters and number. Special characters are not allowed "
I have tried about 20 different combinations that meets the requirement to my understanding with no success.

Okay thanks, I will give that a try. I reckon my client is as up to date as it can be while it was functioning under the NCSoft loader.
 
Anyone know if its coming to steam? Would not mind giving it a try.

How BIg is the download after the 140meg installer? seems like 10/11 gigs download

Hey guys.. It turns out that my Aion is more out of date than I expected... Is there anyone here in the Durban area with an up to date version of the Free to play Aion?? And would not mind giving me a copy... Please let me know. Thanks

I'm not sure to be quite honest. My current client is sitting at 22GB - Dunno if it'll be going to Steam though. If that was going to happen I would've expected to see Steam list it long ago like they did with Star Trek.

BUMP! ive been downloading for 2 days and im only at 27% :'( anyone in durban, toti, scottburgh area?

I'll say this much for GameForge - they suck at hosting clients for download. And I don't know what they did, but Aion took decently long to start up already ... nowadays, and I kid you not - I click on the Start Game button, go away, make coffee, and come back just in time to see the log in screen come up.

Took me 3 days to download the Tera client.

Also, I can't use my Japanese voice files anymore, even if I copy them in, the damn launcher picks up the change and then redownloads 1.4GB of English voice files T_T

But the number of Asmo noobs coming into Eltnen for PvP is awesomely epic ... I have a level 22 ranger with 22 kills to her name already xD I'm going to hit rank 7 before I get anywhere close to the Abyss.
 
Lol i managed to download it in a day (well that was beta days) and to me seems quicker than the original nc stuff, still need the client pan?

Hey man.. I got my friend to start downloading the game and he is about 70% I will keep in touch when I manage to get a copy from him!

Web Africa has the files on their FTP server. If you have a WA account (or can borrow one) then you can DL it bandwidth free.

I still have my little lvl4 mage girl on Perento, my 21 sorc/glad/sin are all on Spatalos, but it's a full server. Not sure if Perento is full too.

I made a new Elyos char on the noob server though for mates of mine who are keen to join up to see what the game is like.
