Battlefield 3

I get that and I can see the advantages, I just think that a Battlefield is full of infantry, so there should be at least a few maps where its just infantry, just imagine a 64 player server with only infantry, rushing towards a central goal, just think of the epicness and fun.

I'll keep at it though, I guess over time I will learn to enjoy it :p

Happy Birthday btw oom.
Hope you have a good one.

Thanks man! They were as kind to give me half day and the day off tomorrow! :)

Wait wait wait!!!!
I have kept quiet about all your silly arguments here but now I just have to say something.

Battlefield is about infantry and tanks and jets. That is the point of the game. Always has been, and hopefully always will be.
The problem is that people started to play the game with the Counter-Strike/Call of Duty mentality and then start to cry about the unfairness of tanks.

I play lone-ranger most of the time and I don't have a big bother with tanks. Yes it can be difficult to kill, especially if there is a pesky engineer around, but it is doable.
I am like a terrier smelling a rat when I hear a tank, yelling "Where is it!" and start shaking uncontrollably. I simply cannot leave a tank alone. Rockets right up the tank's bum, or even better, 3 C-4 charges get that satisfactory message "Vehicle destroyed".

But of course you will not be able to kill a tank with the Recon kit...

If you play in a squad its even easier, two Engineers knocking the tank from different directions, with the rest of the squad sorting the repair guy/or guys (sorry there are no female models in the game) out.

This is what they mean when they say you can't play with a COD mentality. In COD you don't have to rely that much on teammates, but in BF its very important.

The problem is that people worry too much about their K/D ratio's, that is why they are scared to go up on foot against a tank.

^ ^

I honestly don't care about my K/D ratio on BF, never have.
If I play in a tank or playing metro I pawn but playing alone without camping is fucking insane lol
But yeah you're right it is very different to COD. I am getting the hang of it now, played 3 games and played well in all 3 so I am happy. Still think there should be more maps that are just infantry based but meh its ok.

I can appreciate that it can be very intimidating for a new player to face a tank alone. But that is the lovely part of BF3, even tough I feel dirty to admit it, there are many other game modes to gradually introduce you to the BF3 type of play. But I will always see Conquest as the way BF was meant to be played. Big open maps with lots of vehicles and lots of infantry. But I will not advocate against Rush or Metro, because it draws other payers to the BF mayhem.

Some of us have more than 10 years experience in being Tank killing, flag capping sons of our mothers.

:D I have more than 8 years COD Experience lol But I will get to the level I know I can be in any game if I spend more time playing, and getting used to the game.

Spent around 3 hours playing tonight and I had a crap load of fun, I managed to finish top a few times, so getting the hang of it eventually :D

Yeah it can be fun once you get into it ;)

Had some line issues again last night :(. Ping spike to 1500ms thru speedtest and 30 min later back to 11ms.........

Mmm... when I think BF (3) I think big maps, Tanks, Planes, Choppers. Its all about the whole experience and I personally like to spend my time in one of those 3.

Don't get me wrong, I like the odd Infantry only type maps as a change, but if I only want to run around shooting other headless chickens 24/7 I'll go play another game seeing that I've already done that in the past 20 years in other games.

Those maps would have to be HUGE, even 64 players on a map seem congested.

Eish bru, imagine how huge though....Hahaha.. But the vechiles will have to be a lot faster as well. Imagine driving for 15 minutes in a tank to get to the other side :D. That would be a snooze!

Well on one's off days it would not be a problem ;)

I find myself playing TDM more and more nowadays. Just like the less serious approach every once in a while. Point and shoot.
