I do some filing, check documents for errors, crop and resize pictures, set up email signatures, do research for my boss, send faxes, scan documents, look for tenders, run cellphone billing reports, reformat them if necessary and send them to certain staff members, and install software on computers when our tech support staff are too busy to attend to anything that simple.

Well, the next step up would be Admin. Assistant, but the other J.A.A. here is more likley to be promoted, as she does more difficult and responsible work than I do.
This is actually a step up from what I did in my first ten years at the company [Data Capturer]
I did try programming, but struggled to get my head around all but the most basic concepts. Likewise for databases. Perhaps I don't have the mental machinery to do well with computers, but I can still get somewhere in admin, and my boss thinks I do a good enough job with research. I did do an End-user computing module through UNISA last year, but one has to do and pass at least 4 modules or be disqualified from registering for the next year on grounds of poor academic performance. Don't think I could have managed to juggle 4 modules though....
K....got to get back to reading tender bulletins now. Chat to you laters.
