Crytek explains why they’re developing the Homefront sequel

"According to Yerli, the main reason is that the game has a great “mind share” – everybody knows the IP." mind share wont help in this industry. look at THQ saints sold like 3.6 mill and there still cutting jobs and stuff. Crytek makes good games but I don't think its the kick home front needs. They should rather create a new IP and bring something fresh to the table. UNLESS THEY DO SOMETHING SIMILAR TO CRYSIS 1 WITH LARGE OPEN AREAS NOT LIKE CRYSIS 2.

Crysis 2 is still a better game, We have had a discussion about it many many times. Crysis 1 was a tech demo, with very little thought put into the actual story and game play, instead they focused on producing a tech demo, with fantastic graphics.

If anyone can inject something into a game Crytek can, the main issue with homefront for me was the incredibly shitty graphics and how little effort was put into making it a solid good looking title, Crytek will def be looking at that. The story has potential and the game play wasn't all that bad.


Anyway Crytek is fantastic, I love them to bits, after all they gave us Cry Engin which is a master piece.
