Mass Effect 3 Thread

ty ty.

Played Me1 when it just came out, but can't remember anything. Got Me2 with the PS3 I won here at Mygaming, but the console croaked so I never finished it. Going to take my time and really explore both titles, then move to Me3.

Bought Me3 Today. But I have to refrain from playing it. Decided to get ME1 and Me2 with all DLC and go through those again to fully catch up on the story. Just started Me1 a couple of minutes ago, all spectered up and ready to go

Prepare yourself, it seems you may be disappointed by ME3s ending ;)

If they release DLC that incorporates the combat system of ME3 into ME1, I'll replay the first game. I just can't get past the combat in the first game. It's horrible. :O

I actually liked it... you could crouch, didn't need to run around for ammo clips the whole time, etc... but then again, I'm just a casual gamer.
The weapon and armor customisations in ME1 were the best though. ME2 screwed that up and ME3 is better than ME2, but still not great.

Finished this two days ago, about 28 hours with the completion of all side quests as well. I must say, I honestly enjoyed this game and stayed clear of all the moaning about the ending util after I finished it.

*Spoilers ahead*

Based on the entire story and how it develops towards the end; the catalyst, the citadel, the reapers etc - and how this ties with the conclusion to the story with Commander Sheppard at the wheel is one epic adventure. The grand epic galactic scale (huge ok) of the force of the reapers (synthetics) who wants to wipe all organic life vs an aligned force of all other races in the galaxy with the Cerebrus/the Elusive man in the middle is really a lot to take in and was very well carried over to the player by the developers imo.

Based on the scale as mentioned above, it would be really difficult to create an ending that will be accepted by all player, especially since the story was somewhat guided by choices we as the player made, but the story still remained linear to reach one final conclusion. The player is then left with two choices: 1 - use the catalyst to control the reapers and destroy them along with yourself and the mass effect relays, or 2 - use the catalyst to destroy all synthetics/technology (reapers, mas effect relays, all AI etc) and yourself. So either way, everything is fuc*ed up. What now? I'm guessing ME4 will be a prequel seeing that everything is gone... Galactic Fail. Epic doesn't cover it.

My 5 cents. I still enjoyed the game immensely and will recommend it to anyone who's a fan of the series.

Dudes, if you are a true fan of the series, you have to watch this vid. It's 20 minutes long, but definitely worth it!! If this was the true intention of the ending, as all evidence suggests, then the ending is truly genius on their part.

If this is true... then I change my opinion about the ending for now.
However... and I could be wrong here... but this is then proof that Bioware is absolutely brilliant and dicks at the same time. This means that after Shepard wakes up from his internal battle with indoctrination, the final war continues and then the real and final ending comes... in the form of DLC.

The problem I have with that is the ending....

I have to confess I'm one of those *hoping* that the 'indoctrination theory' is true, however unlikely the chances are. This vid conveys the theory really well methinks.

Also found this from the same uploader, thought it was pretty funny :D

That was a brilliantly put together "proposal" for Indoctrination Theory, and it makes a lot of sense. When replaying the series I will definitely keep this in mind to see what I can pick up on.

Did anyone read the books and were they any good?
