Right guys, this is my post and my advice, what im saying is my opinion and how i understand these changes. The guide im posting has everything to do with weapons, i not will comment on the patch changes to performance etc that can be used in another thread, this is purely to address weapon attachments and changes. As i Play with more weapons will update the thread with my advice and what i think.
Ok so far for me, the patch is a winner, i heard many of you were very unhappy notably Sky and Stormzors and ironically Faffa was happy with the patch. The biggest issue im hearing from Storm is that is VERY hard to kill a dude now, you aim at the dude but he just wont die and by no means is Storm a kak shot and nor is Sky, so whats going on here? IMO the weapons have changed, the mechanics have changed , the attachments have changed too so i will detail the attachments and what i think goes best with what, i will give examples as best i can chaps.
The attachments:
Foregrip: reading the description and what changes have been brought forth by the patch, i decided to try the foregrip to see just what impact this attachment now makes and in summary this is what has changed.
In the past the foregrip eliminated recoil, it was probably the best attachment, pre-patch but not anymore. The foregrip is now clearly a close quarters attachment, the description clearly states recoil is eliminated by a % but there is a small aimed accuracy penalty. So i tried this out and its true, the recoil is reduced but it was very clear to me from the start when i used the M16A3/SCAR-H with it that the bullet spread is increased (side to side recoil) whilst vertical recoil is eliminated, this clearly places emphasis on its CQ ability. there are guns however that benefit from the foregrip a gun like the AEk for instance which has a high spread already benefits from the foregrip as it appears the AEK does not pay a high accuracy penalty like the M16A3 and the SCAR-H did, this is what i experienced last night. It needs to now be understood that the foregrip is no longer the 'bread and butter' attachment.
Flash suppressor: I have dubbed the attachment as the 'new foregrip' the biggest recoil eliminator in the game is now the Flash Suppressor, as it states clearly, the flash suppressor hides ur muzzle flash but also acts as a recoil compensator (which is true in reality) is basically directs the muzzle flash upward creating a force with works against the recoil and thus eliminating recoil. Truth be told, this is my BEST attachment, it has def pushed aside the suppressor and foregrip combo, for me the flash Suppressor = old foregrip and suppressor combo. This attachment is best used with all guns, yesterday i used it on every weapon, it is a winner fullstop. For medium to long range engagements i suggest the flash Suppressor and bipod/underslung rail combo, the foregrip helps but understand your cone of fire is increased. There is however a hip fire penalty with the flash suppressor so keep that in mind,
Bipod: the Bipod has changed, whilst many of you never use this attachment, it is really great for really really long range engagements, it made my scar-h paired with the flash suppressor, sniper rifle accurate, it worked the same for the G3A3 too, it deploys MUCH faster and eliminates ALOT of recoil.
Heavy Barrel: Now this is an interesting one, the heavy barrel gives you greater accuracy (so less spread) and the expense of some recoil, it also increases bullet speed on carbines most notably and maximum range of weapons. Whilst i have not tried it yet, it seems the 'experienced' players and judging from youtibe videos run a heavy barrel and foregrip combo, this makes sense, foregrip reduces recoil but increases spread, heavy barrel increases recoil, reduces spread and increases range/bullet speed , overall it appears the foregrip removes the recoil whilst the heavy barrel cancels out the spread, what you are left with is a weapon with slightly less recoil but faster travelling bullets and a higher accuracy, if you remove the foregrip you'll ofcourse have way more recoil but gain better aimed accuracy. The balance between the two is apparently perfect.
Suppressor/Silencer: I tried this last night and the reduced recoil the suppressor gave me before is no longer the same, it reduces recoil but at the expense of slow bullet travel and an aimed accuracy penalty. this suggest that it is best used in a close quarters situation with a foregrip, but dont expect any weapons to be effective beyond medium range, it is clearly meant for stealth play just as stated, so i would suggest a suppressor and foregrip combo when you are in a CQ situation.
Weapons and their combos:
M16A3: if you plan on taking on guys medium to long range then i suggest Flash suppressor, underslung rail/bipod. Also the foregrip and heavy barrel combo will do well too but is meant more for the really long engagements, used the flash suppressor and underslung rail combo on my m16a3 last night, scored a 84 - 22, if anything this combo has made the m16 MORE accurate with less recoil. I practically went full auto at medium range
AEK: A weapon that has been nerfed but still very usable, at range it is not as good as what it was but doable, CQ is owns hard. my suggestion for this weapon is flash suppressor and foregrip, in this instance the foregrip helps the AEK considerably as its spread is already high it seems that it does not pay a further penalty to its spread at all.
G3A3: this gun is now a snipers bane, its damage has clearly been upped, i could feel it right off the bat, this gun is best used with a flash suppressor and bipod, whilst i did try the foregrip, it reduces recoil abit more on the G3 but increases its spread and with only 21 rounds i feel that you cannot afford to have bullets missing. I have not used the heavy barrel and foregrip combo on this weapon but i think it will be pretty good too.
An94: Sorry Sky but IMO this is the new king of the assault rifles, with its reduced recoil the An94 has become very potent, i cant recall last time i was able to take out 5 people with one clip from any assault rifle, i have noted that they (DICE) have made it slightly less accurate, the An94 with a flash suppressor is a winner or the heavy barrel. But whatever you do, AVOID the foregrip, it increased the spread on this weapon, you cannot afford it with a 2 burst weapon. Stay clear of the foregrip.
SCAR-H: do you want to take on snipers and assault rifles but you still want to be an engi?? well this is the weapon for you, the scar-h was potent before but now it is amazing!!! i tried many combos on this gun last night, the best by far was a flash suppressor (yes once again) and a bipod, you do not have to use the bipod but do not use a foregrip on this weapon if you are not using a heavy barrel, the suppressor has become useless on this weapon, with only 21 rounds in the mag, again you cannot afford inaccuracy of the foregrip or supressor. By far my fav engi weapon
PKP: now not as good as what it once was, the cone of fire on the PKP is quite large now and i know Capitan was not happy with this and its increased recoil. After some tinkering i got the combo right for this weapon and Cappie was smiling again

. The foregrip on the PKP is useful on this weapon as it hardly increases the cone of fire on it, PKP best used with flash suppressor and foregrip/bipod both equally good, whilst the PKP is now up against some serious contenders such as the M60E4 and M240B as they share the same damage now.
i Will continue adding weapons and my combos to the list as i go on but its worth noting that the flash suppressor and the heavy barrel have now become important attachments whilst the foregrip and suppressor have become very situational attachments.
Also worth noting is if you are suppressed, done even think of shooting back, i even shot my rpg wonky when trying to fireback, i think dice have kind of messed that mechanic up, note sure if it was intended.
Will update as a go along guys. enjoy
