Kalahari.com Specials & Promotions

You know one thing that really irritates me about Kalahari.net? They don't have description's on a lot of their pages. As an example, they're selling Anno1404 Gold, but there's no description. Now I have to go google what the Gold edition of the game includes. I've also looked at many of their sales before, and they'll be selling Collector's Editions of games, but you have to go to another site to find out what the Collector's Edition includes.

Not only does their descriptions not say what is included in the game, but for a lot of their games there is not a description at all. If you spot a game you've never heard of before, basically the only information Kalahari offers is the box-shot and the name. Nothing more.

That's pretty annoying. I don't want to have to google the game every time I see something interesting on Kalahari.net. It also doesn't really do much to coax me into buying something from them if they can't even be arsed to copypasta a simple description from the game's website to make life a bit easier for their customers.

Sorry about this. I have addressed this with our team who are responsible for this. We will ensure that going forward our listings are 100%

Thanks. It's just really annoying seeing a game or Collector's Edition for a good price, but then having to go search for what the contents are.

If you have any questions, you are also more than welcome to PM me on the forum. :)

Happy to see the Risen 2: Dark Waters Collector's Edition listed at Kalahari :D

Pre-ordered <3

Although, you guys really need a bigger image for the contents :p

So still waiting for my refund of Deus Ex Human Revolution Collectors that was cancelled last week...

Wow, I think the term "special" is being used way too freely. Especially since a lot of those titles are cheaper at another retailer, who don't even have them "on special".

Case in point: Brink, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Fallout New Vegas, Red Faction Armageddon, Saint's Row The Third, Shadows of the Damned, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Vanquish, Warhammer 40k Space Marine are all cheaper at another retailer. Heck, Vanquish is about R300 cheaper.

Just because you say something is "on special" doesn't mean it actually is.

HI Strifehart,

While I understand that those titles may be cheaper at another retailer, they are on special on kalahari.com, as they are cheaper than they ever have been on our site.
There are some gems within the mix, it just depends what you are looking for.

Kind Regards,
Ramone

Yes, but they will dispatch it in 7 days?... Meaning you might get your order... We have it in stock, and will ship it to in 24hrs.

As stated above, these are specials on items we have had in stock for a while, and it is clearance only.

To be perfectly honest, if I have to wait 30 days I wouldn't mind, there is a R429.95 difference between the prices. Who on earth would rather buy form you than from Takealot for a fraction of the price.

False.

A lot of those games were retailing for around R100 a couple of months ago during your Big Mama Sale. Shadows of the Damned and Brink specifically comes to mind. Warhammer 40k Space Marine's console version sold for R199. We even had a discussion about it over on the PHForums.

You are perfectly entitled to purchase from whomever you like.
If you were only looking for Vanquish, then yes you are correct.

However, there are many other titles available for excellent prices.
E.G:
DJ Hero Bundle: R199.95
Kane & Lynch 2 Special Edition: R99.95
BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Limited Edition R199.95
WRC2: R233.95
Tekken Hybrid (Includes 3D Blu-Ray Movie) R233.95

Kind Regards,
Ramone

Agreed on some of those titles, but not all of them have been on special before.
I was generalising, and didnt single out titles like you have.

Anyways, why are you arguing about it? These specials are for you guys, not for me.
At least I'm letting you guys on the forums know first :)

Not to be a dick, but the disparity in pricing is quite shocking across the board :

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
R319.95 vs R181

Brink
349.95 vs R279

Fallout New Vegas
R559.95 vs R348
The sad thing about this one, is the competitor's price is for the Complete edition, whereas the Kalahari version is the original release without the DLC.

Marvel vs Capcom 3
R478.95 vs R265
Once again, it should be noted that the competitor's price is for the most recent edition of the game, whereas the Kalahari version is the original version.

Saint's Row The Third
R307.95 vs R265

Shadows of the Damned
R400.95 vs R249

Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
R233.95 vs R139

Warhammer 40k Space Marine
R281.95 vs R179

Also note, that all of these are currently in-stock items.
