If you called Takealot let me know please, because just readed on the Guild Wars 2 Facebook, and they told if we pre-order it it's not the same than pre-purchase, so don't want to-do anything untill i see a pre-purchase button from Takealot :D

Will do, want to try iron all that confusing out with them. By the way, the https://buy.guildwars2.com/ pre-purchasing isn't working yet, and not accepting anyone's payments. Said to wait another hour or so.

3880 people lurking on the guru forums right now. Reckon they're going to make a killing with the pre-purchase.
 
As I am unable to download 25 or so gig in any useful timeframe (60k/s dl max), I will be waiting to get the DVD box if I can.

You are still going to download the game. I believe the game ships with a DVD that only has the installer on it, which when you launch it will download the game from the Internet. Best would be to make sure you arrange to copy the game once downloaded from a friend perhaps ?

Holy craptastic batman! That is insane! If this is indeed the case then I might as well purchase a digital version. Any confirmation of what is actually in the boxed version?
Looks like I will have to beg it seems. Ergh!

The only difference between physical and digital standard editions is just that... one is completely digital and the other is physical in terms of you getting a box and disks

Rang Takealot, said it should be available within the next hour or two- and they are indeed sending the code in a box, through courier.

It will work the same as WoW. The disk has the core files and the launcher. When you run the game for the first time it will start an update whether you like it or not. as far as anyone knows, there is only one disk in the box and there is not way in a hell a single disk will carry the full game
