When do the Radeon 7850/ 7870 go on sale in SA?

So it's little under a month left before I want to buy myself a Radeon 7850 or 7870 yet these cards are still not really being sold here.

The only place I found even had the damn things in stock was Wootware. What's taking so long for these cards to hit our market? I'm going to need one very soon...

Try rebeltech.co.za they have got in stock! I'm getting my new gigabyte 7850 shipped to me this week!

Or some of the other guys like wootware have some nice specials. Just look around, and if you can't find anything just message them and I'm sure htey'll help you out quick.

Cards have been available for a week now mate :)

Dude, none of our suppliers have it, takealot doesn't have it, prophecy doesn't have it. In fact very few places actually have any stock of it, but rebeltech and wootware do have so hopefully they still have the Gigabyte 7870 by month end. :)

Yeah they buy from my suppliers so they def have stock.
I know Landmarkpc also has stock. Damn strong cards...Had a 7870 for a weekend and omg it clocked and ran like a beast, damn good value for money.

Maybe Joker can give you price on one also? Not sure if he does that but he sure does build some cheap nice systems.

So stupid question - I notice there's only 1 DVI port on the card (and 2 Mini DisplayPorts and 1 HDMI). I use 2 screens, so would I need some special adapter for the 2nd screen? Mini Display port to DVI/D-SUB adapter?

IIRC, you get a mini-HDMI to HDMI converter with the card. Does one of your screen support HDMI input?

Well looking at reviews the average difference in FPS between the 7850 and 7870 is 10 frames per second.

Now with the average price difference being over R1000 you are effectively paying R100 per extra frame.

This all leads me to lean towards getting the 7850 rather than the 7870 from a pure price vs performance perspective.

Ok I can officially say that the 7870 is a fucking monster xD
I was playing around with it and got it to destroy a GTX580 no problem, hands down my current fav gpu.

Well if Rebeltech still has the Club 7870 at the end of the month then I'm definitely getting it. :D

joker will you rather upgrade from a 6870 to the 7870 or just get another 6870 and do crossfire?

I would take the 7870 if I were you. Down the line you can Xfire that and be better off. The 7870 also as mentioned above performs very very well so its more then enough.
