Dark Souls PC DRM system outed

Can't believe they went with GFWL over Steam. Oh well, hopefully this doesn't hurt sales too much...

Never had any issues with GFWL, so I'm not phased at all. I'll probably get it on Steam anyways.

I was just about to say, "oh look, its steam, no need to create an article over that since its so predictable." But WTF :wtf:?

Had my fair share of problems with GFWL. Installing it (there's like three separate stuff that needs installing), account problems, dlc key that didn't work, ports I had to forward so that it'll accept my serial etc. Nvm region problems.

Have yet to play a game using GFWL that I didn't have to find the standalone patches for.

I could not play a game for about 4 months since gfwl would not update and even installing the update standalone tells me my client is not up to date please update nonsense so gave up and cracked the game. Bough it on steam when it was released/special works like a dream.

I don't know why companies insist on using software that the developers no longer support. Microsoft havn't given a crap about GFWL since it got released and only gave a small crap when they updated it to add Games on demand, then went back to not giving a crap.
