Guild Wars 2

Panthis/ Shadowfox what guild are you guys in btw?

You 2 are also welcome to have Iniuria as an alt guild and I would love to do the same to your guys guild.
I enjoy keeping in contact with other South Africans and it would be a nice way to see what the community is doing.
Everyone has their own thing they are looking for in a guild and GW2 did it very well in allowing players to join multiple guilds.
Us at Iniuria would also love to host events along side you guys so would be great to keep in contact and grow the SA community. We are still a very small guild as we only started up Mid April and our user count is about 4 short of 50 members now but I'm sure it will grow loads before the game is released and once it is released.

Well, for the beta events I'm basically planning to play around with the guild functionality and see what's what. For the time being the server choice isn't final - it could always change. Since the majority of my guild-members haven't pre-purchased I'll most likely be going solo.

We'll see what happens when the game launches :)

@Panthis & Shadowfox if you are going solo and get a bit lonely come give us a shout on VOIP. Our channels are always full of laughter. As for what I will be doing:
1) I want to level to 10-20 on a couple proffs, mostly thief
2) I want to check out as many cities as possible. I'll be sure to check out Lions Arch and my personal area in my home city
3) I want to get a feel for Crafting and Guild creation. Ill be sure to dabble in both of these quite a bit to get an idea for it.
4) Once done with all of this I will spend the rest of my time doing WvW and possibly PvP and a bit of PvE to learn my characters a little better.

2 more days to go. really cant wait.

@Spartan while I have used my guild name here it is purely so you know who I am talking about. If you read my post above yours you will see that I wasn't biased in server selection and told people that they needed to decide for themselves.

You misunderstand me, man I should put disclaimers below all my posts. I was asking not judging. I am glad to see more SA players surface, you guys will be handy in a fight.

I just don't want to split communities, hence the Guild Wars 2 SA site and initiative, to get everyone to be part of one thing.

Out of curiosity, do we have any "MyGaming" oriented guild at the moment?

Whose guilds are the top contenders to take that place? :D

*eyeballs shadowfox's guild*

@Spartan
The issue I had with other MMOs is that you had to bend your guilds objectives in order to cater for your community and their wants and I'm so glad that GW2 has made a way to alleviate this. I fully support being able to join multiple guilds and not all South Africans joining the same guild as that allows a player to have their main guild set as their main role for the game. The player can then join other guilds based on where he wants to spend the rest of his time.

While I do promote separate guilds I hope that the leaders of each guild and community can come together on a site like GW2SA a short while before release and debate servers they feel will better suite the SA community as a whole and then all of us start our own guilds up on that server. That way we are separated by guild and can enjoy what we are looking for in the game, but are not separated by server so that we cannot enjoy time together.

Ok so im confused as to where i should go i was planning to play on Jade Sea at the start but now idk anymore... I like playing with other SA people but im not exactly an RPer tried it out just wasn't for me anyways where is the majority going Jade Sea or Petrified Forest?

Not a clue. I'll likely be going to where ever most MyG folk go. Otherwise I'll just settle for making friends and going with the flow :D

Either way: DECIDE, PEOPLE!

Got a text from BTgames earlier saying our beta boxes are here.

Sent from my BlackBerry 8520 using Tapatalk

Same. My friend phoned some time ago and BT Games said they will provide us with the "proper" boxes, not the crappy crap.

Shot my download finished this morning, and i'll join you guys on Jade Sea and make a guild called South Africa, just for fun :P and the Tags will be [RSA]

So if you see the tags [RSA] ask for a invite! :D

What people need to realize is that you hardly ever see RP on an RP server. RP events are usually always private and it is private guilds that host the events. I myself do not RP as I have stated. The pros to joining an RP server though is that the players are usually a lot kinder, more helpful and a lot friendlier. The community is usually a lot better as well. I just prefer to have the lack of stupid character names and children shouting at each other over general and WvW chats. Of course you will still get it but you can almost guarantee that there is less of it on an RP server. The majority of the server doesn't RP at all and are only there for the more mature player base that the server usually has.
