I'm not killing gifs to cater to you slowpokes :p

Yay :D

C'mon, Shadowfox! WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU! :D

Why am I suddenly feeling such enormous pressure? 0.o

I'll post something for you guys tomorrow :p Site is still in the works while me and a mate hash out the details. But the rough idea is basically just that I wanted to get a bunch of my friends together in a guild so we could do stuff together and just have a good time, no real requirements other than respecting the rest and not being a prick ...

Or something along those lines anyways :D

Any ideas for a name yet?

Our hopes are pinned on you :D

Looking forward to more info.

Sooooooooo....

This was just posted. And I still haven't received an email. Anyone else?

I'm all good over here in terms of getting e-mails and stuff. Have you tried getting hold of their support?

Sheesh you guys are harsh - and here I was looking forward to just taking it easy 'n all :p

I'm sticking with Stellar Illusions [StI] as the guild name - I've got a Facebook group up that I was using as a rough kind of update area while I figure things out, since, while I had a guild in GW1 and a legion in Aion, I've never really tried to properly manage one, so this'll be a first for me.

First thing being - I'm looking at keeping it relatively small (20 - 30 max) since the last time I let it run to more than that we had a lot of randoms that caused trouble for us in our Alliance, which wasn't fun to have to deal with. Also, gives us the chance to at least know who we're playing with.

I'm planning to put up a site with a fairly basic forum to organise things like PvP and WvW groups - I'll probably mostly be doing this during the weekends since I expect that's when most of us will have free time, but other than that I'm not looking to interfere with people's play-styles.

Anyways, very much a work-in-progress at the moment - I want to see what the game offers in terms of guild functionality before I start nailing things down - but plans are to keep it informal and easy-going; if we're doing WvW or dungeons or whatever else and someone screws up we can laugh about it and carry on with our lives :)

Stellar Illusions, eh? I can work that.

As long a you're okay with people playing casually, then I'm sold.

I think that limiting it to 20-30 might be underestimating the attention you're going to receive :p

Shirou's guild idea is also tempting but the Afrikaans direction puts me off (no offence to Afrikaans folk out there).

Plus, you're a dedicated MMOer, I think we'd be in safe hands :D

Well, it's not a hard and fast number - if additionals want in and they have friends who can vouch for them then I'm good with it. I'll have to do some persuading of some of the other old-timers, possibly, but I don't see it being an issue.

I wasn't even intending it to be a SA only guild in the beginning but it seems that it's automatically turning out that way :D

But the BWEs are there to get an idea of how things are going to run - even the server choice will be up for discussion down the line.

Well, it doesn't have to be an SA-only guild, but I'm assuming that the numbers would be clearly in favour of a South African majority :p

I'm just assuming that most MyG/MyBB folk would primarily be joining up with your guild. Makes sense: you're a familiar face, you have tons of MMO experience and you're supremely likeable. Ergo, the logical choice.

You need to decide if you're prepared for that :D

Otherwise the search continues!

And the irony of it all is that I wasn't planning on actively recruiting at all - the first time I mentioned the name was when you asked me :D

Hah - I guess we'll find out :p

Indeed, INDEED!

Yeah, I tweeted a reply to that one I linked, but they still have a long turn around time for support AFAIK. I'm mostly concerned about missing important future emails, so I'll follow up properly after the BWE.

Well ... they posted the following on their FB page - not sure if it helps (I couldn't find your original post so I can't quite remember what your issue was :p)

If you have not received your Beta Weekend Event email yet, we are here to make sure you don't miss out.

First, be certain that you pre-purchased through one of our retail partners or https://buy.guildwars2.com/. A pre-purchase means that you paid for the game in full and received a registration serial code. A pre-order is a partial payment through a retailer and does not include Beta Weekend Event access.

Once you have your serial code, register it at https://register.guildwars2.com/. Once you have successfully gone through the registration process, you are set for the Beta Weekend Event.

Next, go to this Guild Wars 2 forum post, logging in with the credentials you created during the registration process. https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/news/Getting-Started Follow the instructions given there, and you should find yourself downloading the client and ready for BWE before you know it!

We'll be here to answer questions as much as we're able in comments on this post, so please leave the comments section clear so those with questions beyond what is stated here.

Followed by:

To be clear: The instructions posted below are valid for you whether you received an email or not. If you successfully registered and did not receive an email, that's okay. Follow the instructions exactly and you will be set for the Beta Weekend Event. If you have questions *that are not answered in this or the previous post*, add them to the previous post and we'll answer them as quickly as possible.

Ty! Luckily the only issue is the lack of email, I got all the info here and on Reddit. I'm mostly concerned that I miss an email when I don't keep as close a eye on things, so for now, all is well :)

EDIT: I'm also in for a MyG Guild!
