Let's sort this out and consolidate the guild list into one thread so that it's easier to figure out.

Name your guilds as well as the server you intend to be on and I'll add them to the list. If there's interest, we can add a poll later to determine which has the biggest interest from the forum.

Type: PvX - We support both PvP and PvE in our guild and will probably be successful in both as we have in other MMOs. Since our home world is an RP server, we support RP as well but understand that the majority of members do not RP and will not RP and are only there for the perks that a RP server has. Perks include, but are not limited to, Better character names, Less childish bickering in General and WvW chat, more helpful and mature players, and overall a friendlier community. Many users are scared to join an RP community as they think they need to RP themselves. RP events are usually always private and it is private guilds that host the events. You will hardly ever see people RPing on the server and most of the people there don't RP themselves and are there for the more mature community.

More Info: We are a South African based gaming community and friends group looking to play Guild Wars 2 together. Many of us know each other through other games and gaming communities and are excited to be able to play together. With the original Guild Wars being incredibly successful in South Africa, we are really looking forward to Guild Wars 2. A number of us are also veterans from the original game. The possibility of bringing together a bunch of fellow South Africans who enjoy similar things, whether old friends from Guild Wars 1 or possible new friends from South Africa, is exciting.

Our leadership team has strong guild experience as well as being leaders and administrators of many other South African gaming communities. Be respectful to each other, within reason - friendly banter is always welcome and encouraged. Very important - have fun! . A great sense of humour would be beneficial - Though with us, you'll probably find a sense of humour that you never thought you had. Be willing to come and chat with us over our VOIP system: Mumble. It's the best way to get to know each other and to form fun friendships. We often become quite dedicated towards an aspect of the game, such as PvP or PvE. However, if things get too serious we often chill back and make it fun/funny once again. Bringing an enjoyable personality helps us keep things fun. Type: Social, easy going and laid-back, no forcing of play-styles - will look to organise group-"outings" for some WvW fun.

With regards to WvW - again, no locking down of play-styles - we can even organise one or two seperate groups to suit everyone's sense of fun and mayhem. My personal preference will probably be along the lines of moving around and completing side objectives rather than occupy a fort, but I'll most likely vary. I might ask for volunteers to "command" these groups since I don't consider myself a master tactician

I'd also like to establish Stellar Illusions as a helpful/respectful guild - you'll very often see me answering random questions in chat if I know what the answer is - I'm not big on having hard and fast rules but I will come down like a ton of bricks on anyone I see displaying any kind of elitist or condescending attitude.

I'll update this post in due course - can I recommend that we don't get too much chatter in this thread so it doesn't turn into a browsing mission

What criteria do you guys look at in terms of recruiting?

Hard to explain Panthis but here are some criteria we look at.

Are you over 18?
Do you get a long with the rest of us?
Are you an elitist? (if yes don't bother)
Do you like playing all kinds of games?

Usually we recruited when needed for competitive gaming, but I suspended the competitive side of ATF after the DGL leg 1. We just don't have the time for it. Now we will recruit or ask you to join if we get to know you and you aren't an a-hole.

ZOMG, ATF and SS merge. That is epic stuff. A new powerhouse perhaps?

On topic, I don't know when I am going to get GW2 because D3 has my attention, but TBH, why don't we try get as many SA gamers into one guild as possible? I understand there may be issues, but in my experience with MMO's, it was never possible due to EU players having a better "setup"... Hoping GW2 can change this

Might be an issue seeing as everyone has friends somewhere else, or won't get a long with others.
Same server/shard is do-able but I doubt one guild will work.

Besides guilds have a limit to how many users can join, and you need to upgrade that limit. You can multiguild though, well I think you can. Maybe one central ZA guild. But who will run it.

Hey dude im still keen hey, sorry ive been quiet the past few days, been down for the count with flu, but yeah im keen hey. Ive been spending a lot of time on BF3 lately and will be jamming a span of D3 (bday prezzie to me ). quick question though, do you guys have a platoon on BF3?
