Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

You know your characters are tied to the region right? So playing in Asia will be pointless.

Bwahahahaha haaties.
Eish and this is where that always online story craps on you.

le Me: "Dammit can't play this SP game coz the servers are full..."
innocent bystander: "Wait...! What!? I thought you just said its SP?"

How was it? Enjoying it?

Loved it! It's really a streamlined Diablo II and I can see myself playing it for a long time to come.

It started of really easy and it stays that way for a long while but towards the end of act 1 it starts getting more difficult... well difficult enough to use a health potion. It looks like it will progressively get more difficult, just like Diablo II and that's good.

Also the item finding is perfect and it really feels like such an achievement when you find a rare. I've found 3 so far so the rares really are rare.

Gold is also a lot more valuable in Diablo III. I keep running out which is great.

Now if only they can get the servers sorted out!

Thing is just, I'd expect this from any other developer, just not Blizzard. The world's MMO giant releases a game that's been eagerly anticipated for more than a decade, and they have server congestion issues. LOL.

Honestly last game I will buy from blizzard, utterly disgusting that on the day of release, after I spend over R800 on a game I cant play!

Well looks like playing any coop tonight is not going to happen. Blizzard dropped the ball big time on this games servers.

Jip only Asia is available ATM. :/ Sent you a pm with details on 384k :)

So has anyone played yet? I played today and during the day it was alright I guess. After 5pm the lag got ridiculous. But even during the day I was playing with my flatmate and my ping ranged between 300ms and 1000ms. Sometimes it even spiked to 2000ms. Was kinda irritating. Now I'm hoping this is just because of their buggy servers. Any one else got any experience with lag after release?

I managed to get in this evening, but after going to have a bite and logging out, I struggled a bit to get back in. I kept trying to get in and I eventually got in. In fact, I am currently EXACTLY where the beta ended, so I am stoked!

I know people are quite angry, and as customers people have the right. To be honest, I can't say its unexpected completely. This has been one of the biggest releases ever and although I am sad that most people are having issues, the bit that I have played, when compared to the beta is so much smoother. The beta was fine to be honest, but this is just like.. silk.

People rage at Blizzard releases all the time. Look at Wotlk and Cata.. Heck, even SC2's release had shit. But once the servers are up, Blizzard looks after them. Like I said, I am sure there is a large team dedicated to get capacity and stability.

TLDR: keep patient, keep trying and remember, 10 years is long, whats another 10 minutes ;)

There's apparently major issues with Telkom causing high latency. Heard it from a friend who said it's under discussion on the Diablo forums.

If possible, try switching to another ISP and trying again.
