Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Man I had fun playing last night with Waco and Wyvern. We played for nearly 4 hours last night and we had an absolute blast. We managed to get past the beta area, that being everything after the Skeleton King and that's when things got really interesting.

Gotta say I'm loving the monk more than ever! Can't wait for our next session.:D

Smooth sailing last night
Checking evey corner, stump, rockpile and barrel. No wonder I'm not very far :o

Level 17 Monk :D Just got to Act 2.

Must say for me the thing that irks me is the AH, I now have full legendary kit, all because its so easy to buy. Sad really.

Seems need to start adding u guys, for some reason when i joined a dudes game my latency actually got better last night??? I was sitting at high 500's when i was playing by myself but then joined some dudes game and then sitting on low 300's was like O.o

We've taken the same approach of explore everything, leave no stone unturned, no black spots on the map. :)

How does the looting work? Is it a round robin type looting system or does each player get an item each time an item drops?

Loot is instanced so no fighting over stuff, although we are each playing a different class and give each other first dibs before salvaging them.

Btw...

If you guys are wondering like me regarding the dyes in the CE here is calrifications

The CE dyes are infinite in their use. Keep them forever, dye as much stuff as you want "Cloud" or "Smoke" colored. The colors are unique to the CE.

The wings are an item you hold in your inventory (don't take up an equipment slot on your character), and it's a toggle. Use to turn on, use again to turn off. They're awesome looking, and stack with other class effects like Shadow Power and Archon.

Hahaha Isengard, I was running my arse off behind the two of you hoping to get a kill in :P

Can't wait for the Wizard to reach that level of chaos :D Altho slowly getting there. Murph I have to say I didnt see you online all nite, but saw grim and omega and a few other randoms.

I just need to get over the compulsion to pick up EVERY BLOODY THING :P Also the need to destroy everything, hit it see it go up in a cloud of debris and notice either Isengard or Waco standing in the middle of the barrels :P

I had a few rubberband moments last nite, but overall my latency was sitting on 250 - 350.

Level 23 Monk now and unfortunately back at work. Enjoying the game even more than I enjoyed Diablo II and that says a lot!

I'm playing on 3G and everything has been going smooth except for one thing... I've died about 5 times because of sudden lag spikes though which is annoying. Clicking and seeing your character die and no matter what you do you can't stop it.

Damn, I never thought of looking for legendary items. I've got mostly rare items and I agree the auction house really makes getting items too easy. Even getting gold by selling items. It takes some of the fun away of actually finding rare items so I think I'll ignore the auction house for now.... except for selling stuff on there.

Yeah Blizzard forcing everyone to buy stuff in the AH house is just plain annoying. [/Sarcasm]

I love the AH, there are a near infinite number of people willing to give me gold for an item that will be "out of date" in an hour. Real, long term epic loot will only start dropping towards the end of normal and into the higher difficulties. Currently I have a complete equipment replace cycle of about an hour. Even my rare weapons soon loose their appeal when stuff doing twice the damage starts dropping.

I am dropping most/all of my gold into the blacksmith haven't bought a single item, crafted a few but not buy. The price of buying a soso weapon/armor compared to crafting something that probably does more damage makes the ingame vendors, at the moment, only good for selling stuff.

@ Murph, lol!

So I got a Starter Edition key on release day and I even managed to log in on release day to give it a try and it's done it's job nicely to make me want to buy the game. I did seem the b.net forums though and it looks like some people are lucky and a lot of them aren't.

Yesterday evening though it was a little more annoying with higher latency (jumping anywhere from 360 to 750) which is strange because on release day it reported latencies of 260 - 380). It also felt a little odd last night as in I would run along and it would almost appear to "stutter" every now and then as I was moving along where as on release day I didn't experience any of sort of "stutter and speed up" effect.

Anyway great being able to try it out so early - I almost feel like a beta member now! I just wish that inventory icon would stop flashing every time i pick up something...oh and for the lag to go away - otherwise I'm pretty close to caving it seems.

My Demon Hunter is Level 23 now played Act I 4 times with mates and is doing my 2nd run thru of Act 2 was in the middel of Act 2 and restarted for mates :).

Awesome fun however I need some sorta book or pages to upgrade my Blacksmith to level 4 will try the auction house tonight... Could not get it right last night....

I picked up everything, portal sell, upgrade my Blacksmith :)

Do you guys know if a 1mb line will be able to handle 4 people playing Diablo?
I mean as in 4 people playing on the same line from the same location.

Its basically 250kb line for each person then :)
I hope it is enough.

Me and a few friends used to get together at one of their houses and four people would play Magicka on a 4meg line with zero lag whatsoever. Magicka is quite the bandwidth hog, so if that runs fine, Diablo 3 definitely should. :p

It uses such little bandwidth that you could probably have 16 people playing on that 1Mb line. :)
