Nightmare is insane...At least 5x harder than normal..You have to work together as a team..
Just thought I would mention that...lol

lol You have no idea..even the very 1st Act is insanely hard xD
Won't mention anything else, but its not just mindless smashing and bashing on Nightmare...Think before you act..or you'll die non stop xD
 
Nightmare Builds?

Ok so who is in nightmare, and how are you building your class?

I knew I was in trouble when I joined a friends game, ran up to a zombie with my Barbarian and took 10s to kill it. :) So that kind of lead to a rethink of how I build my class. Survival is a crap load more important now than it was in normal with monsters having 10x more hp, doing more damage and having more abilities. It's damn fun. :)

So basically I'm rocking a full tank build using 2H. 4 Fury generators (Cleave + Fury rune; Leap + Armor, Stomp + Range, War Cry + Double Armor) then on proc/hp regen ability (Revenge + Damage) and finally my one and only spender (Whirwind + Life Regen). So with buffs I sit at around 59% damage reduction from armour and after Leaping I'm at 80% which can definitely save your life. :)

I never really liked 2H as I felt the amount of attack speed and thus Fury generation you lost wasn't made up for in the damage you gained but with this build I get little fury from Cleave (hits) and most from abilities and taking damage, then Whirlwind spins up for the actual damage. Revenge also hits like a truck with my highest crit I've seen at 2800.

For Barb, build for strength.
I've got rings and amulet that adds about 300 Strength.
Then all my gear is self made and all fitted with gems for strength(Ruby does strength as far as I can remember)
I can take much more punishment than my whole team and if they die I am always the one reviving them lol.

Edit: only at the start of Act I nightmare

Only Rubies I use are for weapons, all other sockets get fitted with Amethysts (Purple/Vitality), so after finishing Act I @ lvl38 I think I'm on 580 str and vitality which nets me about 8900HP. I'm more interested in skill combinations though since you don't really have full control over your stats, unless you play the auction house (which I don't).

I see on one of the wikis that strength adds damage and armour. Good to know! At the moment I'm focused on strength and vitality, with items or abilities that add life steal.

Trying to breake barrels and they just stand there and won't break them lol

Me and isengard playing 2coop with 2 witch doctors so far its very powerful. Since we did not want to play with wyvern with our witch doctors because of the spiders :D

Still cheaper than buying new if you didn't pre-order.
