Aion - General Discussion

Hey guys... I am finally up and running!! To all the people in the Durban area that were looking for the game send me a PM and we can try make a plan to get you a copy.

And I am playing in the Aunhart Server so if anyone else is playing in that server let me know.. many hands make light work! lol
 
Okay I am finaly done downloading would you lot mind inviting me?


UnknownItem problem anyone? Need help will check if its away tommorow but it sundenly happen after a few hours of gameplay.

Does it happen while gathering/harvesting?

That's one of the Free Account restrictions - you can only gather a certain amount per day or something like that.

A okay that explains its. Man can't wait for gw2 now with non of these restrictions.


Sigh can't even put one item in the auction house fking useless game. With a free account.

I'm Elyos on Perento - I'll just warn you beforehand that if you decide to play Asmo on that server you may accidentally run into one of my Ranger's arrows :p Little bastards can't be trusted - they go all over the place.
 
Okay started to download the client and it should hopefully be done when I get home.

Just want to know, if anyone is still active and how restrictive is their F2P model?

I have to ask ... which client are you downloading? A friend of mine ran into this issue when she downloaded the client off the NCSoft site - because that's the NA client, which is, at this point, completely different from the EU one. If you downloaded via aionfreetoplay.com, you're all good.

Okay - key differences. NA is on Aion 3.0 - which includes mounts, housing, new quests, instances and areas/regions. I haven't run into any restrictions there - but its entirely possible I just haven't played enough to hit them yet. But I find no mention of restrictions on their site, so I don't think there are any. Server population on the one server I visited was pretty decent.

EU is still on Aion 2.7 - and while GameForge seems happy to update the in-game store, there's been no word on when we'll be getting 3.0 this side. There are plenty of restrictions - you can't trade in the auction-house, can't create a legion (this might have changed), longer cool-down times on most of the instances (up to a week in some cases), lower AP, medals and insignias earned from PvP/Fort combat, restrictions with regards to gathering (they've increased it a bit though).

Servers are pretty much dead - it's difficult to get groups for most instances unless you're a cleric or a templar (and then be prepared for spam-heaven, because everyone is looking for you) - most groups are elite instance sell-runners, so if you're looking to get geared up you're going to have a hard time of it.

Compared to each other, NA is actually a more attractive prospect, even with double the lag. Europe might pick up if they release version 3.0 here, but GameForge is pretty damn pathetic in overall terms.

I don't really care fr the PvP / Arena aspects of MMO's and I'm not into raids or instances all that much, only GW2 will get me hooked onto that. I will be playing the campaign(s) and see how far I can get in completing it.

So what server should I join? US or EU? What server are you playing on?

I've got an account on one of the US servers that I pop onto from time to time, but for the most part I'm still on the EU servers in the vague hope that we'll see 3.0 before Guild Wars 3 is released.

(yes ... I meant to type 3 there - it's not a typo :p )

How is it on the new servers?

I just played like 20 mins when the servers went live just to make sure my account transferred correctly, wasn't really that motivated playing on my own.

If I remember correctly my Elyos was on perento 42~ something, just know I farmed Kromeda(spelling?) quite a bit, now I'm not even sure if that was before or after the change... oh well.
