made an image of a friends disc but now its downloading a moers biig update file, i dont have my laptops charger with me and my battery is starting to fade as there is only about 2 hours left (wifi and bluetooth chomping my battery life).

What kind of laptop? We have two at home so you might be able to use their charger whilst we copy. Otherwise I can just burn the disks for you, then you just copy those files over to your install files and run the game.
