I was just about to talk about this exact topic. Blizzard say one thing and do another. They said they were putting in the AH/RMAH purely as a legit and easy source of trading so players wouldn't have to go through out of game, dodgy places. Then however, after the release of the game they tell us that the AH has actually affected the game, in the most intimate possible way for Diablo, the drop rates. They tell us that because you can use the AH they assume you will, and because of that assumption they must adjust the drop rates as if you're playing in a game with a few million people rather than 1-4 players. So their very first statement they made about the AH is a lie.

I'm not sure what other people have experienced but on my Barb all the way to 60 and now my Wizard up to 42, I have yet to pick up a single usable, level appropriate weapon. Considering the effectiveness of your entire character is based on weapon dps, having a crap weapon means you character will be crap, simple as that. So to remedy that I've been forced to purchase new weapons on the AH at regular level intervals in order to progress at a steady state.


I'd talk about the poor/boring itemization but I've run out of juice. :D So maybe later.

Normal is a 15+ tutorial. And while we may find it too easy Im sure alot of new fans or new gamers are glad for the low entry barrier. But yeah I wished there was an option to play on Nightmare from the word go.

Yeah I know. It's perfectly understandable for a first-timer. But once you have played through it on one character, you don't really want to do it on all. At least I don't. Like I've said before I have very limited gaming time, so I'd rather be doing something challenging than something that's too easy.

Challenge yourself to do it as quickly as possible. Ignore as much as you can and get to the bosses. At least that's what I will do with my next character. That way it will keep you entertained since you have some kind of challenge.

Sigh I have played a few public games with some random people and sigh the way the die with the barb is the funnies thing ever, lol bitching and moaning about the bard yet so far only seen one good barb all the rest run in die.

i played with a few people with different classes in public games in nightmare ... its always funny how im most of the time alive and have to revive ppl

Yeah I agree, I actually thought once you finished normal you were going to be able to start new characters on nightmare from then on. Sadly I'm now left with playing with all my characters through normal, bit of a pain.

I'll only be going home later but had a quick look at the forums and there's already people complaining about Error 37. It will just get worse when people start playing after work. So unfortunately it looks like the issue has not been solved.

Seriously, it definitely looks like the issue is back. If only Max Payne 3 was out today and not tomorrow. This is highly irritating...
 
In Korea they don't fk around.

Korean Government Raids Blizzard Over Alleged Diablo III Wrongdoing

Blizzard is on the hot seat as the Korean Fair Trade Commission raided the studio's Seoul office to gather evidence as to whether or not Blizzard violated the country's law. The FTC performed the raid due to allegations that Blizzard is refusing to refund players who purchased and were attempting to return Diablo III.

Dissatisfied customers who couldn't log into the game were denied a full refund by Blizzard, which said that it was under no obligation to do so under the game's contract. The studio claims that it has a strict policy of "no refunds" in the country if a product is used.

The players turned to the FTC for help, and the commission responded by launching an investigation. The investigation will sort through the seized documents and evidence to see if there is a possible violation of Korea's electronic commerce and commercial contracts law.

The FTC confirmed that it had received "many complaints" from Diablo III players, but did not comment further on the investigation. Blizzard has since vowed to increase server capacity, but is not budging on the refunds.

You Error 37 someone after they have bought your product and don't give a refund, prepare to get raided.
 
Okaaaaay, so it seems that Web Africa giving me a 4mbps connection for the past two years or so was a slip-up on their part, which is why I got a 384k connection when they migrated the old Titan accounts over to Home ADSL.
It was super while it lasted. :) Now Diablo 3 doesn't work very well on a 384/128kbps link, it seems, so I'll be giving it a rest until Telkom gives us 384k line users the free upgrade they are talking about on MyBB, I win the lottery, or get a hefty increase.

Luckily I was able to get in after a few attempts and the gameplay was pretty smooth except for massive lag on my chat buffer. It literally takes minutes before I receive the messages that my friends have already responded to.
