Games are made by "men" for a perceived hormonal, teenage male audience and until that changes we will have sexy-in-your-face
To be honest though I find the gaming industry has adapted and matured in some ways so not every female character is about T&A. Sure you still get instances where this isn't true but I think you get that in all mediums of entertainment. As long as people understand and see it as isolated elements rather than indicative of the industry as a whole we are doing all right.
And what would you have us do, Prophet? Buy airplane tickets and fly to the industry bigwigs to have nice chats with them about gender equality? Because I'm sorry, but that ain't gonna happen. I don't have the money for that. I could send them an email, venting my frustrations, but the chances of it actually being read? Slim to none.
We are already doing the best thing we can. Making a big stink in the public sphere. At some point, the head honchos in the PR departments of all the major gaming industry heavy-weights are going to have to sit back and say, 'Hey, our demographic isn't standing for what we're doing. Maybe it's time for change'.
If everyone had just kept silent about CVG's article instead of getting angry and making a big stink about it, do you think they would have removed it? Do you think after the public outcry they got hit with they'd post another article like that one?
We don't have many ways to show our disagreement with them, so we're reduced to venting it out on gaming forums or voting with our wallets, which a lot of us are doing. At some point or another, something's gotta give.
Also, this quote should read
What better way to change this than by letting these people know we don't agree with their practices?
It's absolute bullshit, by the way. According to this article, 49% of UK gamers are female. The 'made for men, by men' thing is no longer applicable. It's time the gaming industry realized this and cottoned on a bit.

This is true, in the last few years we have seen a big departure from the T&A female protagonist even getting a few strong female leads like FemShep & Madison Paige from Heavy Rain. Even the new Tomb Raider has taken a few steps back from the T&A approach.
I don't get the part where you are under a misconception of me saying do nothing. If you actually read and thought on what I said you would have noticed 2 things:
1) doing nothing results in nothing.
2) trend and conception issues.
Please tell me how exactly does those to make up and say to you "HEY PROPHET SAYS DO FUCKALL"![]()
